Good rate, pay always on time direct deposit, interesting work. Staff is exceptional! Just was very hit and miss on work volume.

I applied just a few minutes after the ad was posted, but I haven't heard anything yet. I desperately need to find a secondary job, or even just a full-time job to replace the one I have. I'm rarely able to get a full day's work anymore.

So did I. I completed all 3 but the transcriptionist in me wanted to "fix" some of the text. Also some of the directions contradicted themselves. Oh well, it was one of the more interesting tests I've taken. Wouldn't mind seeing more jobs like that posted here.

I don't know if you've ever done general transcription before, but it is quite a bit different from medical. I did medical for 17 years and for the past 6 months I've only been doing general, so it took some adjustment.

I was able to pass the test because it is very similar to some other work I'm currently doing.

When I started general, at first I did feel like I needed to "fix" things like you would normally do in MT, but after a while you get the hang of it.

that there were a lot of inconsistencies in the corrections they made? It seemed they wanted things different from test to test, i.e., "gonna" versus "going to." The training manual said not to use "gonna." Either way I did it, they changed it to the opposite. There were also lots of punctuation changes that made no sense. Oh well. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I guess.

I was told that they use Microsoft Word's "compare documents function" and they said it "leaves a lot to be desired" but it gives them a general idea of how you did.

So basically it seems the tests were graded using this "compare documents function" instead of an actual person reviewing the tests and making the corrects. I was told not to worry about the "gonna" vs. "going to".

Hope that helps explain the confusing corrections.

Have any of you been able to use your foot pedal for the testing? I'm not, and I'm finding it to be very time consuming. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

I used Express Scribe and my foot pedal worked fine. I would never attempt it without a foot pedal.

Then if I go into forums and then job seeker's it shows the last job posting as 11/30/11. Lots of ads for help BUT underneath the ads are dislikes. Does this mean TTS is a bad company and don't work for them. Kind of sad they keep posting jobs so I wonder if disgruntled ex-employees are disliking their ads and why they keep advertising for help. Any thoughts on TTS? ...

Just checked out the job seeker's board and came across someone willing to work for 5 cents per 65-character line and 7 cents if the audio is poor quality. I just cannot believe someone would ADVERTISE or SELL themselves to work for such a low rate of pay, which probably would not even equal to minimum wage!!!!!! If you want to get screwed do not advertise, just go to work for a few of the national MTSOs that do not have a good reputation on this board!!!!!& ...

Be careful of responding to the post by Mike Witkowski - a few years back he pulled this same type of thing with needing transcriptionists "right away" - the whole process was very shady and then he tells you that you don't meet his "requirements" after you transcribe a test.....just a head's up. ...

That was offering part-time acute care work for ICs. Almost immediately after I applied I received an email from them stating how interested they were in me and asked that I fill out their questionnaire. Anyone have any information about Metropolitan Psych Services? They have an ad on the Job Seeker’s Board. It says they are in New York. Goggling “Metropolitan Psych Services” comes up with nothing. Just like in these forums there are a few who dislike everything whether they like it or not. One job posted as "Easy OT and PT work" pays .08 for the GROSS line which is significantly higher than the character line. Are there people who don't know this? In other words you would be making the equivalent to .10 of .11 CPL on this job, yet 3 had to dislike it. What did you dislike about this?
