Does anyone have any info on Eagle Eye Transcription from the Pacific Northwest? Just wondering if they are very helpful in getting you set up. It sounds like they have a lot of work - is this true? I would be interested in ANY information you can supply - GOOD or BAD.

The workload varies. You don't get slammed with work, here and there there is no work. Definitely ups and downs. You should always have a second account for just this reason. Not sure what you mean by "getting you set up?" They just hired three people a couple of weeks ago, so I don't think they are looking for anyone else right now, but hey, I could be mistaken.

Has posted this same inquiry, worded exactly the same, in other spots on this board, about different companies. I suggested checking the website for this particular company, then calling and speaking to the owner directly, much better than hearsay, IMO.

I only posted under this exact post when it was moved to the Politics board. It's not hear-say. I currently work there and have for quite a while. I have never posted about any other company either - this is the only "company" I contract with - I have two personal clients of my own, which help pay the bills. That's a great way to exercise, by the way, "On Site MT For now" jumping to conclusions like you do...

My reference was to the OP coming to the forum and asking questions about pay and workload for this company instead of going to the source and asking the employer, to me it seems like the logical thing to do. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. The suggestion I originally made was for her to go to the source, but apparently that was not what she wanted to hear. The same question was asked in regard to M-Modal or Nuance with exactly the same wording, I was just pointing that out. I know you work for them, that was never in question. Sorry, sorry, sorry.

Ours from the West has (thankfully) gone back to being another MME like the rest of us poor mortals. I found her e-mails to be bossy, snippy, condescending and picky to the point of absurdity. Would someone explain to me how is that this company can legally pay us a lower rate for ASR compared to transcription? After they pushed ASR on me, (said that I wouldn't ever get a 50:50 ratio of ASR to transcription) I am getting mostly ASR work. My pay has dropped significantly. Can they do this? ...

Since the advent of voice recognition and overseas outsourcing, transcription has ceased to be a profession. I will NEVER -- repeat, NEVER make the money I was making as a transcriptionist at a hospital 5 years ago, before we were replaced by VR and cheap outsourcing to India. Now all that's left are transcription companies here in the U.S. that don't want to pay much more, lie to us and tamper with our line counts. GET OUT, GET OUT OF TRANSCRIPTION! ...

It seems that everyone has negative things to say about how employers do not pay MTs what they're worth and how they offshore the easy stuff, but pile on the lousy ESL stuff on the transcriptionists in the States. Too bad there can't be a general strike of U.S. MTs - a day without transcription - just to show how we're needed. It seems to be the only thing employers would understand.
