Documentation Services Group - looking

Posted: Sep 13, 2011

Can anyone tell me what this company is like to work for?  I don't find anything in the archives, and they have a position posted on the job board.

I'd like to know how they pay, if they have steady work, what platform they use, etc.  Also, do they have straight transcription in addition to VR?

TIA

Well I sit here with no work and for me the pay is not bad. Don't know sm - dsgmt

if new hires will get as much. They aren't bad to work for. Sometimes they don't answer emails. Pay is always on time.

thanks for the information. nm - looking

I worked for them too short a time, had to leave for personal reasons. They do have straight typing, but I think not much. Great to work for, wonderful, wonderful people. Pay comparable with others. Good support and QA. I am considering reapplying for part-time, just not sure I really want a part-time doing VR, but have to think long and hard as I am not very good at VR.

Thanks for your input - Looking. sm

Sorry for the confusion. I saw it on another job board, but I know I can't post the name of it here. I've been checking both that board and the job seeker's board here and came back to ask for information.

something beyond my control. If they let people go that supposedly did great work, I would not even go there.

Anybody Know Where Any Documentation Regarding Exactly How The QA
Mar 20, 2010

submission line count is calculated?  Number of characters in the words filled in by QA divided by total pay period line count?  Number of characters in the document submitted?  Knowing MQ, it's probably the latter.  So... if I submit 1 report with a 90 line count doc and 1 word, I'm dinged more than five 10 line count docs with 2 lines (i.e., 130 characters) of blanks in each?  There are doctors with such bad accents+mumbling in my group that they can end up w ...

Documentation Errors
Sep 15, 2010

I work in a surgery center/clinic in medical transcription. I have never worked in the medical field before, so I'm not sure what is acceptable. We get massive amounts of documentation errors from the nurses in the surgery center and in the clinic. Is this usually acceptable?! Is it normal for a transcriptionist to be required to scan over the chart and correct all of their errors or should this be the responsibility of the nursing staff? It's DRIVING me up a wall! I'd say 75 ...

from years ago?  I'm going through all my paperwork to find something that says we were to do a certain lines per hour, and at 98% quality.  If they change the stakes, it isn't our fault that we do not meet their new standards.  I'm thinking in terms of getting fired from a hostile environment and claiming constructive termination. ...

Domestic Medical Documentation Act
Apr 23, 2014

I think any law that forbids offshoring of American medical documentation would have to be very thorough to address a number of potential problems. In keeping with this, I have a list below of some that I've thought might come up under such a law unless they are specifically addressed. These are possible loop holes that could really mess things up. 1.  It would create a sudden demand for many more MTs in this country. That's awesome, obviously, but I fear this may cause medical pr ...

I worked for them for a bit over a month.  During that period of time, I was involved in a move, and they required a VPN, as did the other company that I was working for at the time.  When I moved to my new location, I was on a DSL line and of course, off the internet for about 2 days or so.  At that time, I was using Word 2003.  During my "hiatus" from the move, and when I got on line, I received an email from them, that I needed to update.  Well, the "update" did not w ...

Documentation Of Employer Harassment And Abuse.
Apr 01, 2015

If you feel you are being abused and want to do something about it, you probably need to be documenting the problem. Concerns that have been mentioned on this board include: Some have mentioned having no work available but being required to work outside of their scheduled hours in order to complete their required line count. Some have been a victim of an unfair pay system in which they have had their pay reduced because they have such difficult dictators/intermittent work that they are una ...

Is It Just Me, Or Do The Words Clinical Documentation Specialist Mean
Jun 05, 2015

Ahima certainly gives it a different spin than MT, and an article at Study.com lists desired or common requirements as associate's or bachelor's degree, with nursing, HIM, or health information technology, and medical coding expertise.  So where does Nuance get off expecting "lowly" MTs to do this stuff, with 100% flawless accuracy, on lowly MT pay having to Google everything? I mean, they do not even pay us enough to be "lowly" MTs, and yet expect us to Google and verify that do ...
