Anyone on here currently work for them? Can you give me an idea what kind of company they are, platform, pay...etc....? Thanks in advance....

They treat you like a human being. They don't hound you for overtime. The pay is higher than Synernet. The benefits are good. I work on the remote side, which means it is typed in Microsoft Word and we get paid for spaces. If you work on the Fusion side, the pay is a tad bit higher and you get differential and weekend incentives, but it is visual black character pay. I have nothing but good to say about the company and its owners who are women and have been transcriptionist themselves. They have huge accounts in Maine.

They never say Mandatory overtime. I have been here almost a year and there are some times when they ask for overtime, but they never hound you. Now Synernet, you will get hound if you don't do overtime. With Alliance, if I am not able to do it, I let them know and they down degrade or threaten firing if I am not able to.

I think I have run out of work with them for maybe 1/2 of a day in 5+ years. I find myself a lot of days wishing work would run out so I could take a breather!

Physical and mental burnout is my major problem and I'm sure they are well aware of that as they see line counts plummet when there is an overabundance of work.

So, should a company over hire and have people sitting and waiting for work, or is it best to just ride it out and ask for OT when it's needed? Again, a very fine line and I think they have handled it very well. It is exhausting though.

They ask. They don't threaten. They don't browbeat. They are specific about days and hours and they know that not everyone is available to work extra hours. As far as I can remember, it's never been labeled "mandatory." From what I read on this board, many companies either are "MOT" or they run out of work, which I have not found to be the case with AHD.

I have been with them for years and hope to stay with them until wherever the road may lead. They hire the best of the best, the supervisors are the most professional and compassionate you will probably ever come across, and questions and/or concerns are actually addressed. You can always get help no matter what shift you work. The pay is on time and fair and the bennies are, from what I have seen, better than average.

I wish our state would recognize them for the little gem that they are, especially considering it's all women (except for maybe the computer guy).

tell me how that works?  I know the insurance premiums are less than a regular health plan.  If your  company puts 500 in your account, does that mean the first few times, for example, until you use up the 500, you don't pay ANYTHING or is it the opposite...you pay the entire office visit cost until you reach that 500?  I would be so grateful for any information about this type of plan.  TIA ...

submission line count is calculated?  Number of characters in the words filled in by QA divided by total pay period line count?  Number of characters in the document submitted?  Knowing MQ, it's probably the latter.  So... if I submit 1 report with a 90 line count doc and 1 word, I'm dinged more than five 10 line count docs with 2 lines (i.e., 130 characters) of blanks in each?  There are doctors with such bad accents+mumbling in my group that they can end up w ...

Documentation Errors

I work in a surgery center/clinic in medical transcription. I have never worked in the medical field before, so I'm not sure what is acceptable. We get massive amounts of documentation errors from the nurses in the surgery center and in the clinic. Is this usually acceptable?! Is it normal for a transcriptionist to be required to scan over the chart and correct all of their errors or should this be the responsibility of the nursing staff? It's DRIVING me up a wall! I'd say 75 ...
