Anybody happy at Synernet? - nervous from archives

Archives have mostly negative stuff - is anybody there happy? Some conflicting info too about whether they have 55 or 65 character lines - can anyone clarify? Anybody making a decent wage that works there? Do they have line bonus incentives? Any info appreciated.

pay tooo low 7 on QA, off QA 7.5. who could you support on that - .

they pay as employee at the GOD AWFUL RATE - been there done that and GONE

There is only one nice person I have ever talked to there and who seems to genuinely care about you and try to help out. The other people are rude and insanely demanding.

so ... 6.5 to 7 cpl for 55 characters and NO spaces paid even as employee is ROTTEN pay per line. there are benefits and PTO after 90 days or so

Actually, their line does include spaces. There is no waiting period for benefits or earned time. This is not an IC position-they only hire full-time and part-time MTs so I have never run out of work like my last job. Not sure what some of you are bothered about. I've been here at Synernet for 3 years and love my job. I get treated with the utmost respect from all of their supervisors and managers, continually get to learn new accounts, have great QA, and meeting the incentive goals so am making far more money than my previous job. Also, you may think their pay per line is low, but they pay for all headers/footers so my line count total each day is much higher than most companies. Be careful what you read on these sites. Too bad that some negative people try to ruin it for everybody else.

I completely agree. I have been at Synernet for just over 6 months. Great place-nice platform and they are switching to a brand new platform at the start of 2010. Line counts are fairly calculated, awesome benefits, and very helpful staff. I am earning some great vacation time, trying to hit the incentive goals, and loving this place! I also agree that people are constantly negative about certain companies. Be careful of what you read!

Who in their right mind names a company "Happy Transcriptions?" In this day and age, all I see is "sad" MTs and, in my opinion, if "Happy Transcriptions" is still happy, they can only be messing even more with us poor "sad" MTs. All I can say is I am so "happy" I am so close to being on my way out of MT! ...

I have an interview with them coming up. They seem like they have a good reputation and the benefits look really good. One thing I am wondering about them is just how flexible are the schedules? For example, right now I am able to work a regular 2nd shift position with no problem (I currently work 2nd shift and prefer it to other shifts), but when school starts my kids will have sports and Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and I have to take them to their meetings. First the dire email: Mandatory OT by end of week with at least 2 hours on Saturday. Just forget if you had plans for the weekend. Say what time you will be working and have to work those hours and put who okay'd those hours on your timesheet (you might lie you know). So you do that because you want to help the company out and it's nice to have OT again. I am applying for a job with Synernet and will be testing tomorrow. Can anyone tell me approximately how many lines I'd need to type a day to make... lets say 80-85 dollars a day? Anyone out there working for Synernet who has also worked for other companies? I was an IC before joining Synernet a few years ago. They are paying me .7 cpl, no flexibility unless per-diem and then per-diems still have to work 2 holidays a year, lots of vaca time but can't use 2 weeks in the summer until I've been there 10 years, management impossible to get response from regarding any type of question, just got thrown into weekend rotation, etc. After looking at boards I see th ...

Just curious, I'm trying to decide between a few companies and I totally forgot to ask the interviewer. I think the whole VBC thing is criminal. It's bad enough not being paid for all of the research, demographics and CCs we do, but to not pay for characters that we actually type just because they don't print out in black and white is OUTRAGEOUS!!! ...
