Any info on Inscribe LLC of SC? sm - oldtimemt

Posted: Dec 09, 2011

Have looked in older posts, but there seems to be more than one Inscribe.  I'm looking for info on the South Carolina company.  The usual: pay scale, how are they to work for, etc.  Have downloaded their application and testing material and it seems pretty cut and dry as to what they want.  But before I wade through all the transcription testing, would love to hear some current reviews.

Thanks.

It's the same company - oldie

The lady's name is the same as the InScribe in Kentucky, and it is the same company. Hope this helps.

I have received numerous emails from this company about my posted resume. I tried to take their online test. I have 28 years acute care experience and could not even get past the first part of the test, which I know I did well on, but was not allowed to test. They keep sending me emails saying they want to hire me and give the test site address, to which I reply I have already tested with them but still keep getting emails from them. So, good luck with them.

I was hired as a brand-new MT less than eight months ago. I have only been on one account so far, and it is okay--fairly good dictators although there are a few tough ESLs. I have a feeling new hires are generally put on acute care account but there are some clinic accts, which I think they open up occasionally to insiders to move to (not sure but that's what I saw in one instance).

Pay is 7cpl. There are also opportunities to earn more with incentives if you do overnight STATs or join a team of experienced MTs who are on call to jump in and catch up a backlogged account.

There are several platforms, some not as easy or fast as others, so that could affect pay.

One unique thing at InScribe (I think it's unique anyway) is how they want their MTs to turn to each other for help filling blanks. They allow you to send to QA but that should be your last resort. So listening in to others' blanks and also asking others to listen in to yours can lower your productivity and pay as well. Maybe some MTs like the camaraderie that provides, but I could do with less of it.

Minimum line counts are set by account managers but a general rule is 3000 per pay period (twice a month).

They offer direct deposit and there is no fee for that. Its use is encouraged.

They have 24-hour tech support.

Other than that, work flow has been good. They prefer you set a schedule, but you can often work extra or rearrange it if necessary. I think it's fairly flexible--has been in my limited experience.

I don't think they offer paid time off. I think they are working on offering health insurance (but I don't expect it to be that affordable based on what seems the norm for MTSOs.)

The company has backed off from harassing its MTs (all IC's) to get on and work, as I understand was an issue in its past. If your account falls behind you will be asked to get on, but it seems like they try not to overhire, either.

It's not a perfect company to work for, mainly because of the low support for QA, but otherwise it has some good things going for it.

HTH!

The InScribe owners moved to South Carolina from Kentucky so that may be some of the confusion you are seeing with more than one InScribe, which also is not to be confused with the Emdat/Inscribe transcription platform.

They services primarily 1 hospital system and a few other stand-alone facilities, so if their big account ever pulls the plug, they're done for, which was always held over the head of the MTs when work piled in and MTs were working their fingers to the bones to keep up.

They dropped the pay rate a few months back to "keep up with the industry" as well as want the MTs to utilizing Dragon to perform echo transcription, which is mostly cut and paste from the Dragon Pad or Word Pad to the account platform. That's because the platforms aren't very compatible with redictating directly into them. I never saw any benefit, but some MTs seem to think it works and is faster than typing directly into the platform.

I left because I was tired of not getting paid as an IC and treated as an employee while performing duties beyond that of transcription, such as training and mentoring new ICs, answering IMs asking for blank help, etc. I also left because I was constantly bothered with all the e-mail clutter. It was nothing to get upwards of 50+ e-mails in a day over new procedures, always changing company policies, etc. Drove me to drink. LOL.

Oh my! I should have proofed that. - former InScriber

Any Info On Inscribe
Sep 10, 2013

I see Inscribe has a permanent ad at the top of the MT Stars page and also Job Seekers.  I know they hire all the time, but I was wondering if anyone has recently gone to work for them and how they are now.  They say they are very busy and offer positions/training as remote scribes, which does not interest me.  I just want straight typing, even if it is only 7 cpl.  With all of the qualified text I have in a day at 1 cpl, this would be a blessing!  Really bad when after ...

Emdat/InScribe 4.97 Users - I Need Some Info...
Sep 19, 2010

I've been using an old version(4.3) with the OK of the company I transcribe for.  But I'm now having so many technical issues that I need to install the upgrade of 4.97.394. A previous upgrade required the use of the InScribe internal player.  I tried this, bought 2 different foot pedals, and neither one worked for me, as both interfered with my expansions. One pedal I tried was the Start-Stop.  If I was in the process of starting or stopping play at the same time I wa ...

I just installed this on my computer.  Wow, I was dumfounded.  I have trained to learn Escription, DocQScribe, Pscribe and Chartnet.  I really don't think I am that stupid to learn a new platform, but this has to be the most complicated program I have ever seen.  I did not give up right away -- that is not in my nature.  But after struggling for about 2 hours, I finally gave up.  Honestly if they tried, I don't think the maker of this program could have ma ...

Hello MTs! I recently submitted application and tests document to InScribe US and was informed that although I did "well" on the test, I was slightly below their standards.
