I'm a new grad MT and have been offered a job by InScribe. Training has been promised for almost 2 weeks, but they never call when promised. Getting a little worried....esp when reading the negative stuff abt the company. Does anyone have any advice? (Other than "run"...that seems to come up quite often on here! lol!)

move on. I have personal experience with these jokers and also know several other MTs who were hired there, went through training (sporadic as it was), were told to wait for their account assignment, and never heard from anyone again. One gal waited well over a month and finally took another job offer. Emails to supervisors, mgrs., tech support, just about anyone, go unanswered, as do phone calls.

People aren't kidding when they say, RUN!!!

Same as above happened to me last summer. Finally got the tech setup, but they did not have enough work to get me through the first couple reports that need done before they turn you loose on your agreed schedule. Communication was worst I've seen! After a month of this, I finally moved on. Very shady place, as they never replied when I let them know I was moving on, AND they NEVER logged me out of the system! Yikes! Good thing I'm not a stalker and took it off my machine myself!

"RUN" is correct for a reason!

I was just hired by InScribe. They installed everything, but I have no passwords to start work. I am in their email system and all the emails I have received are cajoling/threatening people to get work done. There is even 1 email about the account I'm supposed to work on and how it has lots of ESL dictators and it's difficult! Wondering if it's too late to run.

I just read a few posts about InScribe and now I am questioning if the 2-13 minute reports are even worth doing??

Would like some input on whether or not to go ahead and finish the reports.

It is worth it if you are a newbie I suppose. They pay is .07. If you can find better, then apply there instead. All the BS that people complain about on this forum can be ignored because either you work, get lines, or you don't. The work at InScribe does not run out. If you don't have enough lines from your primary account, you can type on secondary accounts. The only problem with InScribe is that we all need a raise; however, from what I've seen .07 is a good rate (BELOW minimum wage).....is it not???? I wonder how the Dani feels about that.....paying her "gang" lower than minimum wage. But the US economy is the US economy.

If you're not getting anything accomplished by following InScribe's protocols and so-called policies that change weekly if not daily, then go to the top and e-mail Dani or Scott. Be careful though, you may just get more than you bargained and be made a manager or AA with little or no experience or knowledge of anything.

Hello MTs! I recently submitted application and tests document to InScribe US and was informed that although I did "well" on the test, I was slightly below their standards. They have invited me to participate in their internship program, take 4 of their learning modules, and work with someone one-on-one to bring me up to their standards. This is to cost $400. I was just wondering if anyone out there works for Inscribe or has taken their test for employment. I took the test and it was incredibly hard with ESL dictators. In the email I received from them, along with turning me down was a shpeel on enrolling in their university. This made me wonder if it was ligit or what....... anyone know? ...

Just spoke with them and they hire IC and say you can pretty much work whenever you want as long as you make minimum counts. Pay is only .07 for typing or VR but they use own VR system that sounds interesting, you repeat what was dictated. Any info on them would be helpful. Thanks ...

I reviewed comments on InScribe going back to 2005 and the only positive comment I could find is that they pay on time. A red flag was that they hire newbies and require that you go to an MT chat room and send the audio to another MT to listen to when you have to leave a blank before sending it to QA. There was also a comment that you are required to read all the comments in the chat room. Can anyone confirm this is the case? If so, it sounds like they use the seasoned MT ...

I just started a job using Emdat Inscribe, and my footpedal I ordered hasn't come in yet, so I have been using the function keys to play audio. I have been doing this for about a week now with no problem, but today I log in to work though and the keys are no longer working. The only way I can get the audio to play is by using the mouse. Anyone know why this may be? I haven't changed any of the settings, so I am not sure why they won't work now. TIA. ...

Let me say that in all of the 20+ years I have been in this business, I have never encountered more rude, more criticizing, unprofessional people (particularly one manager ****) in my life. These people have you test initially, send you new hire paperwork to fill out, (which is so backward), then schedule you for a brief training on their software, then have you transcribe 5 reports. That is really not a problem, it is the way you are talked to in emails. I will copy and paste VERBA ...

There are reasons why a company has to keeping hiring for the same positions over and over again. Inscribe is that company. Most of the Tx are IC's but are forced to do the work of employees, i.e., training new transcriptionists, editing their work, being on call 24 7, computer-generated phone calls telling Tx's to get online any time of day or night, being on instant messenger AIM while transcribing in order to be able to help new people while you are transcribing - ...
