Nuance

I think we are all bummed out by "working" - for a company with no work

And gradually trying to make our way through the maze of partial UE, TAA/TRA benefits, getting health insurance that doesn't cost the earth, etc.

The sad thing is that most of us didn't realize what was happening (this was by plan obviously of Nuance) until there finally was just so little work it dawned on us we should have applied for partial UE weeks or months ago.

I am applying to MT jobs still, but only those with employee status, and as we know they are few and far between. I would be happy to take a job in the outside world, but I live in a rural place without many jobs, and also I am getting on in years and near enough to retirement. Applying to whatever I can though. I will meet with UE person and TAA person next week to see what shakes out.

I feel that if I don't qualify for retraining and/or I can't find an employee status job before my UE runs out I will probably try to get an IC job, but definitely NOT for one of those Nuance offshoots, screw that.

I live in a high minimum wage state and I am finding the few MTSOs which offer employee status anymore do NOT want those in high minimum wage states - wish they'd tell you that before you apply and do that long test.
