Lots of contracts have terms that specify when work is - to be performed.

For instance, a medical clinic that I worked for engaged a construction contractor to make certain renovations to the front lobby, and the contract specified that work was to be performed between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. (when the clinic was closed, in other words).

Another contract involved an IT firm that performed regular daily backup and maintenance on our servers. They were only allowed to access the servers and perform their work during specified hours (again, when the clinic was closed), except in case of emergency, in which case they were expected to respond within 30 minutes of being notified.

When it comes to services to be rendered, commodities to be delivered or work to be performed, most contracts involve terms that specify the expected times, days and/or dates that the work is to be performed, the delivery made, etc.

In no way does "scheduling" the work performance alter the nature of the relationship or magically transform anyone from an IC into an employee.
