TEXT: Examination of his left knee shows no knee joint effusion.  Good patellar tracking.  No localized tenderness to palpation.  No ligamentous instability.  Full extension and 30 degrees of flexion.  Firm end point with Lachman test.  He does have an approximately 4 x 3 cm mass at the medial aspect of the popliteal fossa.  There is no tenderness to palpation.  No redness or warmth.  __________ is positive consistent with fluid content.  There is no palpation pulsation.  No tenderness to palpation.  No surrounding swelling or irritability.

sounds like giaphenoscopy  Any ideas please?

might this be a diaphenoscope? I see that it transilluminates but not sure if it fits into this text. Any help?

heard of anything close to your sounds like you posted. Could the doctor possibly be saying "The fluroscopy is positive..."

I have been doing it for 25 years and have never heard this before either. That's why I stumped. I can't tell you how clearly it sounds like this.... but thanks!!

Everytime he does an exam for someone after a knee replacement he says: "Range of motion is stable. (?) is intact.  The calf is supple and nontender." It sounds like (caution???).  I am sure that is not it, but that is the closest s/l. Thanks in advance if you have any ideas.  ...
