Knee exam: No "s/l rents" are seen. - annie-em
Posted: Mar 24, 2014
This is an orthopedic office note on a knee injury:
He does have some mild pain on the lateral aspect of his quad, but there is no rupture. No (s/l) rents are seen.
I have never heard of a "rent", I looked up rent and wrent and found nothing, but that is what it definitely sounds like. thanks for any help.
Yes, it is rent ... definition - anon

It is sometimes used in Op Note or Procedures, and is a fairly common term so you may come across it again.
Definition:
An opening made by rending; a break or breach made by force; a tear.
Hope this helps.
