hypens & commas - ortho - overthinking

Posted: Nov 26, 2009

Suddenly, I'm confused....is it displaced right proximal humerus fracture or undisplaced, right proixmal-humerus fracutre or something else?  How about right distal radial buckle fracture ?correct or is it right, distal-radius-buckle fracture.  Thanks

displaced right proximal humerus fracture and - Olive

right distal radial buckle fracture

IMO: displaced, right, and right, distal radius...nm - so

[ In Reply To ..]
nm

I would leave out the commas. And definitely leave - out the hyphen. Ive done (sm)

radiology for over three decades, and the way my doctors would want that sentence to read is:
"displaced right proximal humerus fracture".
If you feel you absolutely MUST put a comma in somewhere, put it after displaced, only.
