We discussed the possibility of a s/l Cozen's deformity (orthopedics) - anon

Posted: Apr 11, 2012

We also discussed the possibility of a Cozen's deformity. I have encouraged mom to seek follow up if she notices any asymmetry between his legs.

I googled Cozen orthopedics. Maybe that will help you? - nm

Medquist Job Possibility
Apr 14, 2010

My hospital has just been bought by another hospital system that reportedly outsources to MQ; they give the docs an MQ number to call if they have problems with dictation, etc.  We are now official employees of the new hospital but have not idea whether our jobs are to be outsourced immediately, end of year, never, or whether MQ would hire us because we know the account so well after 10-15 years.  What's the shortest notice anyone has ever gotten that they were losing their MT job ...

History Of DVT - Possibility Of Suppression?
Dec 09, 2010

The knee actually looks very good today, but to ____ cover the hematoma that we had cultured back as there is a possibility of suppression.  Her calf has a long history of DVT. Should it be:  "cover the hematoma that we had cultured back as there is a possibility of suppression in her calf.  Has a long history of DVT. Does suppression make sense in this instance?  This is a new doctor and dictation is very muffled.  Just can't make sense out of this.   ...

Idea For The Quality Essay (discussed In Threads Below)
May 05, 2013

Line rates: Why are experienced MTs being paid the same rates as newbies? These MTSOs state that an experienced MT should end up with more money because he/she is able to produce more lines than a newbie. I contest this by stating that experienced MTs are also producing HIGHER QUALITY lines and can do so with less help and less supervision (and, of course, much faster), and even if both the newbie and the experienced MT produced the same number of lines, since the experienced MT's lines ...

Orthopedics Job
Mar 18, 2011

I've been offered part-time transcription at home, working for one orthopedic surgeon.  I've got over 12 years experience in many specialties, but have never done orthopedics.  The interview is next week. Any advice on how best I could prepare to work in this specialty for the first time?  It sounds like a great opportunity, but at the beginning a lot of the terminology would be very difficult for me.  I won't have a QA person monitoring my work ...

I have an interview w/MD-IT (orthopedics) and wondered if anyone has any knowledge about this company that they would like to share.  I originally applied to them a while back, took the test, but they filled the position.  They contacted me about a part-time position if I was still available and have set up an interview.  If you have worked for them, do they put you in a general "pool" and you just grab whatever is next or do they give you a schedule (like a particular doctor to transcribe fo ...
