ADT issue - forgive if already discussed - missindale

Posted: Feb 03, 2012

I haven't been on DEP for very long and just recently we were told we had to duplicate all the physician's names on the ADT screen, including ones that are not in the data base?  Is this on a lot of accounts?

Duplicate - Hmm

Not sure what you mean by duplicate, carbon copy? If not in the database, you would use the "New" function.

If you mean place names on the ADT in the fields, I guess my answer would be the same.

the names are already there but - missindale

for each doctor name that is there, we have to create a separate line and repeat the doctor's name that's already there. and if the doctor is not in the data base, we have to use the New function and enter that information manually. But the information is already there, we are just repeating it. And it takes a long time.

Yes, some accounts you have to do this because - Jaz

the names that are already there (autopopulated) do not transfer over to the report during back-end formatting unless we enter them a second time. Stupid and time consuming in my opinion but hey, what the client wants.

thank you it distresses me - missindale

that my people don't see this as a problem. I'm sure it takes up 20-30 minutes a day for which I don't get paid. It seems like it's something they could fix if they knew what a problem it was.

Okay, Gotta Vent...please Forgive Me

CRITICAL ERRORS - Okay, a patient comes into the hospital, gravely ill.  They take some xrays (I am radiology so I use that example). Maybe a CT or an MRI.  The radiologist is allerted this is a rush because the patient is so ill, he calls the report to the MD taking care of the patient to let him know what he sees.  Then, after he calls the report, he dictates it, and I type it...I make a mistake and put, lets say, no congestive heart failure noted, because he mumbles and talks ...

Coders, Please Forgive A Stupid Question, But
Jan 22, 2012

... how are coders paid?  What I really mean is, do you get wage/salary, or are you on production? Or does it depend on whether one does inpatient or clinic coding? I'm a longtime MT who has been seriously contemplating a career change to coding, and I'm now at the point to stop contemplating and start moving ahead. I'm willing to put in the effort/$$$ for good training (Andrews), and not seek shortcuts. If the coding profession means still being on some sort of production ...

Idea For The Quality Essay (discussed In Threads Below)
May 05, 2013

Line rates: Why are experienced MTs being paid the same rates as newbies? These MTSOs state that an experienced MT should end up with more money because he/she is able to produce more lines than a newbie. I contest this by stating that experienced MTs are also producing HIGHER QUALITY lines and can do so with less help and less supervision (and, of course, much faster), and even if both the newbie and the experienced MT produced the same number of lines, since the experienced MT's lines ...
