I am having problems with my Speed Type program not keeping up with me. I do not understand the pause feature and cannot understand what to do to give it time to catch up. It almost works perfectly if I do not continue typing after an abbreviation is typed, but that makes me pause too much. If I put a period or space in, sometimes it just does not type anything but the first character of the abbreviation and at times the abbreviation cue I give it also remains attached. Such as, tp for the patient can at times either remain "tp" or can become "tpthe patient". Any help out there? Thanks so much.
And as I understand it, SpeedType is the same program as Shorthand, just with better tech/customer support, so maybe it's related to something like this? (prior post copied below is a response to my question about "lag" in Shorthand; my only experience is with Shorthand, and just briefly with that)

Happy to share...If you open up the SH window, go to "File" in the top left. From the drop-down, select "Preferences." The 1st screen that comes up in "Preferences" is "1. Operation." I adjusted my settings to:
0 Pause.
40 Keystrokes.
Now it expands instantaneously, just like AutoCorrect. Once I conquered the lag, I found I just love the program now. HTH!
