Meditech Magic Platform - Susie

Posted: Jun 30, 2010

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone is famiiliar with the Meditech Magic platform and how to use Autocorrects?  I recently started a new job with this platform and cannot find where or how to add Autocorrects.  Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!  Thank you.

I hardly think Meditech has autocorrects. - sm

I worked on it for years and there was nothing automatic about it. It's clunky. It is not MT friendly at all.

Thanks for your response. I worked on another version of it at my previous employer and I just had to hit Alt T and Alt A, then this brought up the autocorrect list to add my own shortcuts. This new Magic one doesn't have any words at the top to click on and when I put my icon on the Tools section nothing happens. Its very frustrating. I have emailed the company to see if I can get a response back. If anyone should know, I figure it should be them. Guess we'll see.

Meditech does not have autocorrects.  They have "gets".  To access this you need to hit the F4 key and then either type in a neumonic or hit F9 to do a lookup.  The gets are listed in alphabetical order so you have the option of typing in a letter and then hitting F9.  If you do a look-up another screen will pop up and you find what you want to use and then chose the number and type it in and hit enter.  After you learn the neumonics you can just hit F4 type the pneumonic and then hit enter.  I have worked on Meditech for the past 18 years or so.

I agree, but on my meditech we use F5 and type the pneumonic or F9 to look up

Hired As An IC On An Account That Uses The Meditech Platform
Dec 19, 2013

Hi Everyone! I just got a call that I have been hired as an IC on an account that uses the Meditech platform. Anything anyone can tell me about it. This is my first job being paid for production. They have a 99% QA. I also am in a hiring process with another company as an employee. I feel a little more comfortable working for them, but it depends on what schedule they offer. The IC company is 24/7 but the work is not always there. I have to investigate a little further but they ...

A Nice Benefit To Magic Jack
Mar 17, 2010

While it may not work for actual long-distance phone calls, especially for use with C-phones, Go-to-meeting, and such as that, I found a nice benefit today to having the Magic Jack.  It has call forwarding that can be turned on and off.  So, I use my magic jack number for job contacts.   I have calls forwarded to my home office number only during working hours.  The magic jack phone does not have to be actually connected to the computer, and the computer does not have to ...

Magic Jack Questions?? Experience ?
Aug 22, 2011

anyone tried Magic Jack with a Lanier Voice Writer?  I was successful with it on a little dial-in dictation system I had for a long time with a doc dialing into it, but I think this digital signal thing in the Lanier going over the Voip connection is just too much for it.  But, I though I would ask.  Really tired of paying for an unlimited landline when this is so cheap.  There is a newer one out, can't recall the name right now but its supposed to be much better, b ...

Meditech/EMR
May 23, 2011

I work for a small hospital and we have just recently started typing our H&P's into EMR. The problem with EMR is that it uses Word (not Microsoft Word) and we have no auto correct and no medical spell checker. We were told that we could not get either installed in the EMR. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Also, we were told that we could not cut and paste into the EMR, which is what we had been doing due to no auto correct or spell checker, because it is noncompliance with the H ...

Anyone Hate Meditech As Much As I Do?
Jun 29, 2012

Anyone hate meditech as much as I do?  It is impossible to type more than 50 reports unless you work more than 8 hours a day.  They dont care if you work more than 8 hours a day, (cause there is tons of work) but don't put that on your time card.  You have to work on your days off cause you don't make enough money unless you do.  If you only get paid 1 dollar per report you can go on disability for the rest of your life and pretty much live on 900 a month anyway.  meditech has so ...
