Keystrokes - B4, Docuscribe platform, Meditech, C-phone (requires ULD) - sm

Posted: Nov 20, 2009

Could anybody please describe these platforms and which one(s) are the better?    B4, Docuscribe platform, Meditech, C-phone (requires ULD).  Thank you.

error in op - sm

Oops! It should just be the Docuscribe and Meditech platforms with C-phone ULD. B4 didn't belong.

Keystrokes good or bad just took a job with them - tired

tired of the BS and they seem above board...At least don't outsource..

What kind of computer check does their IT dept do before you can start working?
They check for a few things -- SM - sm

They check your free drive space, your RAM, and probably other particulars, depending upon which platform you'll be using. They also want you to have one of the "premium" antivirus apps installed (not just the free version), though they don't seem to care which one, just that you have a "premium"/paid version (which is silly, if you ask me).

Meditech sucks big time - me

When you add a C-phone to the mix it really is hard to get lines. I never worked on Docuscribe, didn't have it when I worked for them, but I've heard good things about it. KS has A LOT of Meditech accounts and I wouldn't work on any of those accounts, whether it is KS or elsewhere.

It would help if MTs could type in Word, then copy into Meditech but since this is not allowed, the MT gets stuck trying to make lines with a horrible platform.

That's so stupid!!! Why can't you guys copy and past from your Word to Meditech, and how do they know anyways? Unless they have those functions blocked?

I've used Meditech and it was up to us individually whether we typed in Meditech or typed in our Word and pasted it over.

Most definitely copying and pasting is the way to go with Meditech . . .

People wouldn't do it right and they would - me

copy info from the previous report into the current report. When I worked for KS I worked in Word and copy and pasted. My TL told me that I didn't hear it from her but to do it that way. I always made sure I had the right report though. With Meditech you are working directly in the hospital's system so KS has no control over your ability to copy and paste.

My experience with Meditech was that when typing at full speed or when ending the report (can't remember the F/command key), it had a nasty habit of sometimes ''freezing'' and kicking you right out of the report (which was then lost). When first started, got a BS response that problem was with my computer, a ''glitch'', or something at my end. (Baloney--because no problems before or since with any other platform.) Could deal with the multiple screens but not with losing work. Did not want to copy any previous reports -- just wanted to type in Word and copy what I typed into Meditech but this was forbidden. Glad to be gone.

Windows 7 With Platform That Requires XP
Aug 11, 2011

Ok here is my question.  Does anyone have Windows 7 Professional on their computer and use it for a platform that requires Windows XP?  The reason I'm asking is...I want to buy a new computer but you cannot get Windows XP any longer, only Windows 7.  I talked to tech support at Dell and they told me that if I am wanting XP, I will need to go with Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate.  They said that XP runs inside of that, whatever that means.  I am wondering since X ...

Hired As An IC On An Account That Uses The Meditech Platform
Dec 19, 2013

Hi Everyone! I just got a call that I have been hired as an IC on an account that uses the Meditech platform. Anything anyone can tell me about it. This is my first job being paid for production. They have a 99% QA. I also am in a hiring process with another company as an employee. I feel a little more comfortable working for them, but it depends on what schedule they offer. The IC company is 24/7 but the work is not always there. I have to investigate a little further but they ...

KEYSTROKES/MEDITECH - Larger Font
Oct 14, 2009

I  rarely post on this board, but I was surprised and dismayed to see the posts below regarding Keystrokes and Meditech accounts and wanted to respond. I have also worked for KS for 4 years.  I am very experienced on many accounts they have using various platforms; Meditech, Docuscribe, Winscribe, ChartScript, and others.  I type, QA, and do training on these accounts, so I feel like I have a pretty good idea of the situation.  Meditech has different bui ...

Tips On How To Land A Job That Requires Experience? Have You Ever...
Jan 21, 2011

landed a job that required experience that you did not have? I am getting so very frustrated. I have a job now that covers maybe a week and a half of groceries every month. I am pretty new to this field, but due to a ridiculously long college program, I have studied for well over a year and I know my stuff. I test very well and I know what I am doing. All I want at this point is a job with work available, but all of the decent deals seem to require experience. I just need some way around this. I ...

Wage And Hour Board Requires OT Pay.
Oct 11, 2012

The U.S. Dept. of Labor requires time and a half pay for all hours over 40 worked in a work week.  (I think only if employee status.)  We are considered piecemeal workers and indeed are eligible for OT pay. This is to be paid at time and a half of your calculated average pay.  I think Nuance is good about paying OT pay as you log in and out on their time clock.  It is time we start including OT hours on our invoices.  You might want to calculate your average hourly r ...

Why Silent Type Requires An In-house Training?
Jun 20, 2010

Does anybody know why Silent Type requires an in-house training?  Is the platform so complicated that it can't be done through a Webinar or even just on the phone?  I've worked for a few places over the years, and there was nothing that couldn't be handled in a phone call with, at most, some graphics in a Go To Meeting type deal.  I just find it curious and makes me worry, like--if the platform is that cumbersome and complicated, do I want to work for them? Even when I w ...

Where Can I Find The Policy That Requires Us To Have A Quality Score Of 99%?
