Anyone hate meditech as much as I do? It is impossible to type more than 50 reports unless you work more than 8 hours a day. They dont care if you work more than 8 hours a day, (cause there is tons of work) but don't put that on your time card. You have to work on your days off cause you don't make enough money unless you do. If you only get paid 1 dollar per report you can go on disability for the rest of your life and pretty much live on 900 a month anyway. meditech has so many steps to take before you get to your next report that you can lose your momentum. Or am I wrong?

I hate it so much that the only time in the last 10 years I was asked to work on that platform, I refused. Told them I could make no money. They moved me! This was not with my present company. We don't use it.

by a third. Not only does it take many steps to get into a report, it compiles documents and orders several times a day which we have to escape out of. This usually happens while trying to enter the report field to type. Many times, when it stops compiling, there is a set of orders for a different patient. If you lose focus for one second, it is very easy to type a report on the wrong patient. Sometimes it just switches to a different patient, after you've done all the steps to get the correct patient. Even the doctors have had that problem, but they don't get dinged with a critical error.

From what the hosp says, Meditech is great for everything except transcription. My account wants to keep Meditech but there has been a problem for over 2 yrs with the interface so after two buyouts, the transition to both Enterprise and now PowerScribe has been delayed.

I work for a small hospital and we have just recently started typing our H&P's into EMR. The problem with EMR is that it uses Word (not Microsoft Word) and we have no auto correct and no medical spell checker. We were told that we could not get either installed in the EMR. Does anyone know if this is true or not?
