A terabyte is HUGE! - baffled

I'm amazed that an audio file could be terabytes in size. I'd be surprised if your fingers and wrists would last long enough to transcribe it. If it is an extremely high resolution video, maybe. But not audio!
I googled "How big is a terabyte" and came up with this: If your average MP3 is 3 megabytes, 1 terabyte would hold 333,333 songs, or if you had a handful of 4.7 gigabyte DVD movies you could store 213 movies.
See? How long will it take you to transcribe 1/3 of a million songs?
I need to listen to some jobs...I did Alt I from the Fluency Editor home screen to get to Manager. I looked up the jobs by searching under detail and the date.
I found the job and clicked on the job #, which gave me options of audio file, editor account output, and count log file (payroll).
When I hi-lite audio file, it takes me to a black screen with an audio player icon in the middle of the screen. The length of the audio file always says 0:00 and the volume icon is crossed out, like it' ...
She claims the voice files are half as long as what they actually are, saying your express scribe is off. No way. 15 minute file took an hour to type. She said it was an 8 min file. Okay so I got ripped off.

I have created the first app on iPhone which can dictate the audio file in multiple size and format into text by speech recognition. In addition, the app can record your voice by 1 hour that help to improve the speed to input .The app link is shown below:https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/downright-transcription/id687650485?mt=8The website is shown below:downrighttranscript.appspot.com ...

Hi Everyone! I'm used to typing and getting paid hourly. I'm filling out an application that asks how many audio hours I can transcribe during a day. I only want to work 4 - 5 hours a day. What should I answer? Thanks! ...
I just started BeyondTxt so I am still new and getting used to the platform but when I worked Escript it was a big $$ maker for me. I'm finding that BeyondTxt does not pick up things like Escript did and a lot has to be redone, sometimes keeping only 1-2 lines of text and having to redo the whole rest of the report for only editing pay. I NEVER had to do this on Escript. It leaves off words and paragraphs and does not pick up very clear speach. Am I not giving it enough of a chance? I ...
Does anyone know how to convert wma file to DSS file? I am using Express Scribe but, for some unknown reason, the sound quality is very poor. I thought if I could convert this to DSS it would sound better on my computer. Any ideas? Also, anyone know what else I could use besides Express Scribe (free) to play these files? THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I'm curious about something - maybe it's because when I started doing MT, it was straight typing. I've only been doing ASR 2.5 years.
Has anyone noticed if they're more accurate when doing regular typing than they are with ASR? I have. I rarely make mistakes with straight typing but sure can have a lot of typos, duplicate words or whatever pop up on the ASR.
Plus, as an added benefit with regular MT, whenever the dictator pauses, I close my eyes for ...
I'm trying to figure out what this doctor means. He's dictating the vitals signs and says "pulse DT and regular." He's clearly saying "DT" (not "DP" or "PT"), but I can't reference it anywhere. Any help? Thanks :)

I got an email about open enrollment for PT flex, PT limited and and FT limited.
Well, what about FT regular? Why does everything have to be so long and drawn out and complicated with this company. I just want the darn information! ...
I've been standing up at my counter, working... I think I'll like it once my feet get used to it. I was wondering if anyone's tried it and was able to keep it going. I know it's supposed to be easier on the body than sitting 8-10 hours a day, but it does take some getting used to! ...
being paid hourly for VR but also am now doing regular transcription intermingled randomly so hourly pay is becoming "pay by the minute" because 1 report will be VR for a coupla minutes, then the next is regular.
anyone else experiencing this? if so, are you making any substantial money, can it be done?
many thanks,

Please don't discourage me from applying to Nuance. I just lost my job today and I need a job BAD! Plus, I've only got two semesters of college left before I graduate and move out of this field. Anyway, can someone tell me what 2nd shift hours are? And I'm curious to know when most of you work.

Down below someone said it only comes as a separate check if it is over $100.
Mine have always been in the 120 to 150 range and I have gotten a separate check. But
for the past 2 months, nothing. CCM has no idea what is up. Just wondering if anyone's
bonus if over $100 came, as usual, as a separate check. TIA ...
Sorry, my math really sucks and I can't seem to find a site that will 'convert' decimals to regular numbers. If a patient's lab test reads as 23.0 and the doctor dictates it as 23,000 are these both correct ways of putting it? Also had absolute segment coung of 17.48 that was dictated as 17, 480 and bands of 0.23 that were dictated as 230. If these are just other ways of expressing the same number and are all correct, great- I just want to be sure that is the case. I ...
M-Modal has a current job opening listing for PART TIME MTs (there is a separate listing for FT ones too). WTH is up with that? I mean, I myself was planning on giving my notice soon enough to this crappy company and actually was glad I was laid off instead of quitting...at least now I am eligible for unemployment until I find another job....but really, WTH? It's not an old listing, has TODAY's date on it. What is the reasoning? ...
Just shoot me now. I had some great accounts that are outside my area coming in. Unfortunately, now my regular accounts are showing up and my count is taking its usual dive. Bad audio, crummy output. And the compliance coach thinks it is me that has the problem???
Performance coach was performance managing me for "failing" audits, i.e. getting 99.65%. Now she is our compliance coach, so I am getting informed that my line count is teetering just below the requirement. I let her know that ...
Somehow, I think we should be getting paid for the time we are waiting between jobs, especially since the wait isn't fitting into the 15-minute wait period. - Of course, waiting put under work availability. ...
...check it out for yourselves. Employees are not independent contractors. If you signed up for a straight 8 per day, your time sheet should reflect only the breaks you take off the clock. They are so messing with you folks! ...
I have not been paid by a person for some transcription work I have done for her in May and June. She owes me $500. It would cost that much to get a lawyer and court costs and such. Is there a way that I can go forward with legal action on my own against her? ...
I have been fortunate to have had work since the inception of TeamWork, and no longer know the procedure for filing a NJA report. Do we do as before and contact support for a ticket number, then send an email to them with a copy to our CCM, or do we have to do something in TeamWork?
Will someone please inform me as to the correct way to file the NJA report?
TIA ...
