Webmedx line counter - What the heck?

This might need to be on the tech board, but I have a question on the WBX line counts, I just started here. I am assuming that the number up on the right hand upper corner in black that changes is your line count? When I do a VR job, I get a negative line count? What the heck is that? Maybe I am understanding wrong and hoped someone could help me out. I have typed several jobs and done maybe 5 VR jobs this shift and I have a line count of 43??? WWWAAAHHHH.

Also, does everyone else have lagging display? I mean I type a line and will sit there for a while before the cursor moves forward and expands out what I have typed? Am I nuts or just confused.

Sounds like you might have a bit of a problem with your computer. Are you using your own computer or one of their's? Are you on a high-speed connection? You might also check with your internet provider to see if there is something amiss with your connection.

negative ISR line counts - exwebbie

I had negative line counts on several occasions. This was a glitch and can be corrected by contacting your AM. It happened to me if someone before me had accessed the report and for whatever reason they did not complete it. Then when you get the report and edit it, it only shows any ADDITIONS you make to the report, you get 0 credit for what is there, so when you edit out incorrect ISR, it results in a negative line count. Hope this makes sense. You can look at each report and see which job # have negative line counts and report those to your AM.

It is their computer and I do have DSL, which appears to be working just fine otherwise. I did 30+ reports today and had a line count of just under 60, so I hope to shout that this is a glitch, or else I will be paying them to work!! ;o)

I don't know anything about WebMedx, but the lag problem you describe happened pretty much deparment-wide when my employer "upgraded" from MedQuist's CMT software to MedQuist's DocQScribe software and gave us all new computers at the same time. There was a lot of troubleshooting and finger-pointing involved, but as best I recall, THAT particular problem (as well as some bizarre audio problems) turned out to be caused by virus checking software running in the background.

I apologize to sound like an Webmedx complainer. Not my intent, but I am extremely concerned regarding the SR jobs I'm transcribing and receiving correct compensation. The way I understand it, an SR/VR draft report already has a tallied line count when it goes to an MT and if during the course of your edit, you delete lines, the line count always reflects this by being less, it does not stay at the original SR drafted line count. VR drafts have BECOME so far off what was clearly dictated that it is taking LONGER to edit than it would to just transcribe it. Not only do I have to re-transcribe it, but delete full sentences and phrase that sound nothing like what was clearly dictated! As MTs we used to be paid for our keystrokes which was fair. Today we probably put in twice the keystrokes we are paid for. Anyone know of a cheap keystroke counter as I think this would be very useful in a suit again ...
