My McAfee Virus scan subscription runs out - ht

at the end of December. I know it is not the best scanner. Need opinions on what else is out that that is good. I have heard bad things about Nortoon's. McAfee and Norton's are really the only 2 that are advertised that you hear about. Any opinions, suggestions, experiences??? TIA.

I have had Norton 360 for 2 years on 2 different computers - with no problems, costs 70 dollars..nm

I used to have all kinds of problems with Norton's antivirus, including getting a virus (good grief).

Someone told me about AVG which is free and I have been using it for about 2 years with absolutely no problems at all.

McAfee and SSN connection - MT4ever

I had to get away from AVG because I couldn't get it to scan e-mail through the SSN connection once I switched from satellite to DSL. I'm sure there has to be a way, I just haven't been able to figure it out.

I do not believe that a free anti-virus program...sm - virus

gives the same safety as a paid one.

I am using McAfee, it cost $ 40.-- and they give $ 10.-- discount, comes to $ 30.-- per year and it catches all viruses.

McAfee does not catch all viruses, my laptop was - mg

totally taken over by one and I was running McAfee. Took 2 days to clear it up.

I also did use McAfee as my virus scanner, and was unhappy with the high price to keep it. I have been using AVG anti-virus free program for several months now and love it. I catches so much more than McAfee ever did. You also have the option to buy the Full AVG anti-virus program, but the free one works perfect for me.

Has anyone had to deal with tech for a computer virus? My MQ computer (not this one) has a virus, it says a worm and also security 2010 virus. I did not work today nor tomorrow, so I am not going to deal with it until it is my work day, not on my days off. So the computer is shut off until then. Undoubtedly I have picked up a virus if nobody else is having this slowness and delay that I am having. Sometimes will just stop while I am still typing and then will catch up.
