(Moderator - please do not move to tech forum as this is a Medquist problem with Kapersky anti-virus program)
I spent several hours this past week trying to install Kapersky, and it would not install, so I called tech support and ended up escalating the problem to "Systems Administrator." She called back and remotely went into my MQ computer and installed the program.
While I was on the phone with her, I told her that others were having a problem with Kapersky slowing down the computer and basically everything grinding to a halt when the antivirus did its check/updates throughout the day. She said that should not be happening. She said that if the computer was slowing down, it was because not all of McAfee had been removed and the two programs were basically in conflict with each other. She said that even using a removal tool does not remove all of the McAfee components.
She told me to pass along this information and instructions: Call tech support, open a ticket stating that Kapersky is slowing down your computer, and have it escalated to "Systems Administrator." This person will then call you back (may take a couple of days) and she will manually/remotely go into your computer and make sure that Kapersky is installed correctly and that all McAfee has been removed.
I might add that I have now worked several shifts with the Kapersky, and when it is updating or in the process of scanning there is absolutely no slowdown or hesitation when working in DocQscribe. I had quite the opposite experience with McAfee, which made it impossible to work for several minutes several times a day when it was doing its thing.
I hope this helps all of you who have turned off Kapersky because of it interfering with your work day.
