Has work slowed down post holiday at TT? - Another TT MT

For the past 2 days I have very little work on one of my accounts and I'm wondering if this is post-holiday letdown, as I was told it was, or is there another reason for this? All sorts of things come up. Thanks!

I loved the folks at TT, and I loved my accounts. There simply wasn't enough work. I tried to wait it out but even with 2 backup accounts there simply wasn't enough work to do more than pay for my insurance. I hadn't worked so very hard for so very little in all of my life. I took on an IC position on the side and THAT little job is what kept a roof over my head until I could find something else. I left when a much better opportunity with a small MTSO that does straight typing, no offshoring, and a wonderful account, and my income literally quadrupled the first month.

I, too, heard it was a "holiday" slow down amongst a host of other reasons for the lack of work but, at the end of the day, I realized it didn't matter how much I liked these people or how much I liked my accounts; there simply wasn't enough work for the amount of MTs working on them.

Good luck to you. I hope it turns around because, yet again, they're really nice people and very flexible. Just way too high a ratio of MTs to work.

I agree with what you said. I too love the people and all the kindness they have shown me, but it certainly does not pay the bills, and I am quickly slipping into debt. I need to find a company like the one you are employed with now, that would be ideal, and at one time I was making good money with non VR, but that is all I do practically all of the time. There is 1 day of the week that my work changes to reports with good lines, non-VR, and I thought that this might be when some people are not working on that day on this particular account. Again, thanks for the positive feedback..it is so appreciated:)

If you want to work first shift for TT, then there will be no work. If you want to work second or third shift, then you will have plenty work. I've been with TT for four years. At first I started out working first shift and constantly ran out of work. Instead of complaining about it, I contacted my supervisor and she told me if I want steady work then I need to work another shift. So, I changed and I have plenty of work. TT is better than any other company out there, if you are willing work a shift when there is work.

Typical TT Suit post. They need to fill 2nd and 3rd shift but they don't want to pay for it. If you don't need a job, just need "pin money" (as we used to call it), TT is the company for you. If you actually need to survive and pay bills, look elsewhere.

Sad but true. I actually had no work 2-3 nights a week on my account, so I even tried transferring to a dayshift position on another account where I was assured there would be work. There was no work for the first 2-3 hours each morning (okay, maybe 1 or 2 random jobs but by and large nothing).

So...no work for me on any of my accounts, be it day shift, afternoon shift or night shift.

Must depend on the account but having had 3 of them, I didn't care to take on even more accounts just to scrape by.

Does the company you work for need any more good, productive MTs? If so, could you share their name? I left MQ when my pay fell thru the floor with VR to do straight typing with a small company. First 3 weeks were great, then they changed their pay plan and I am now making less than minimum wage with no benefits. I would have never gone to work for them had I known they were going to do that, but of course I wasn't told that when I was hired. I am a great MT and I can produce a lot, I just wish I could find a decent company that was honest.

I work a second shift and sometimes my work dries up before my shift is over. I think a lot of new MTs have asked for that shift, and others are requesting it. Thanks for the reply:)

TT will say and do anything to keep employees. They have little work and pay very little. But they send out cutesy emails and little cartoons. If this is what you need in life, go with TT. If you need to actually make a living and pay bills, look elsewhere.

My late evening account had a decent amount of work approximately 3-4 nights of my 5-nights-per-week shift. The other 2 nights were bone dry on all 3 of my accounts.

Therefore, with all due respect, I disagree with your blanket statement about night shifts "always" having work. I'm living proof that they do not.

It gets "eery quiet" from leads when there is no work !!!! It is like everyone is OFF, because there is NO EMAIL, no warning that there is NO WORK - just total SILENCE. Otherwise, they are yelling and panicking when less than 100 jobs (most of which would be less than 1-minute jobs) show up. We are continuously pushed into LATER NIGHTS and MORE WEEKEND HOURS due to their overhiring on day shift and just general OVERHIRING. TT always has an excuse for the low work, "nature of the beast" thing, holiday, doctors not dictating, and on and on.

TT was a great company and very friendly people, but personality just does not pay my bills. The jobs are going to speech faster than we can grab them, and when we do grab a job, the editing is SO VERY EXTENSIVE that we end up making less than the half line rate that we get paid for VR.

This profession has gone downhill FAST and something definitely is going on at TT, because this LOW/NO WORK situation has been progressively been getting worse for the past couple of years.

Also, even though TT mgmt has come on here and denied it, I suspect they are for sale. As they have a habit of suing MTs who speak out on here, I will again state this is my OPINION, SPECULATION, ETC.

Not a suit so don't accuse me of being one. Just a plain ol' MT. I work my shift, make money and pay my bills. Work load is not what it used to be due to VR. I don't make as much money due to VR. Simple fact.

Has anyone else with RecordsOne had practically NO work since 10/1? Realizing that half of the accounts went with MTI on that date, I suspect the remaining accounts with RO must be getting spread out among the MTs who stayed with RO and lost their accounts to MTI. It will probably take months for RO to build up their account base again..... time to look for another company to work for. ...

Sometimes I'm not sure what to do when they say "post" ... something. I know if it is postauricular (for example), it is attached ... but how about post aneurysmal surgery? Here's the deal...my company says if/when you work a holiday, they will give you the equivalent hours in PTO to use later on (you work 8, you get 8 PTO). I checked with my state's DOL, and they said absolutely incorrect. You must be an exempt salaried employee for them to do this. They must pay regular employees cash money. Last holiday (Labor Day) I was paid a differential. It is usually time and a half so going by your base you will see an additional line on your paystub of holiday lines: ex. if your base rate is 0.08 you will see holiday pay 0.1200 x 1000 lines. Hi. My CCM sent out an email saying that work loads were going to be low because of the holiday and that we could take PTO for Monday if we wanted. My question is what if you don't have PTO? Does that mean you have to work the holiday or can you still request it off and just not get paid for it? Did all of you have a wonderful holiday with your family or did you get to sit in front of your computer all day waiting for work to come in? If the latter, then here's a suggestion.
