Probity/Nuance data breach - MT

Anyone get a notice of data security incident from PayTime regarding a hackers getting payroll information on MTs? OMG the list of information they got for me includes SS#, direct deposit bank account, DOB, phone number, home address, hire date, wage information . . . This is just so frustrating!!

or some other monitoring company to make sure your information isn't misused. I'd be on them right away and make sure THEY pay for it.

It is just a form letter notifying me that the payroll company PayTime Right On The Money had a data breach and my data was compromised since Probity had used that payroll company. The offers free identity protection for one year and the option to get credit monitoring for an additional fee. There are a couple of stories online if you google paytime right on the money data breach.

but Probity hasn't used Paytime in awhile... they switched to Paychex several years ago. Why did this company still have our information?

I am not happy. I briefly worked for Probity after they bought out my company, but that was 8 years ago. I too would really like to know why all my personal data was kept after all this time with this payroll company. The pathetic free year of service they offer doesn't do a thing unless "a problem arises" (their words). I am under the impression that if I want to upgrade to the actual credit monitoring part of their service, it will cost me.

Other than my free credit report once a year, where does that leave me in doing my own monitoring? Paying for monthly credit reports beyond the one freebie each year? Paying for a credit-monitoring company?

Argh.

I can't wait to see who wins the war and which one is left standing. Two classic examples of money hungry, worthless management companies I have EVER worked at. I hope they BOTH wind up in the trash can bankrupt. I only wish MTs could band together and make that happen sooner rather than later. This is all just so senseless. Ruination of lives..... ...

Is that typical for when a company is sold? I had not heard of it before. When does Probity plan to go to speech recognition? I see they have an ad on another site. Do new employees applying at Probity get the subsidy as well? I wonder if it is worthwhile to apply and work for them for the life of the subsidy (6 months) and then quit. Lest some of you come back with "but without the internet, we would not have jobs", let me tell you that we got along without the internet previously and had higher pay because the offshore vultures could not get at the records and we were in higher demand. Didja see the MT proficiency report? I'm surprised we're not forced to sit on digital pads to record minutes out of chair and weight change during the day. Now, why the hell isn't there a proficiency report on the physicians? Minutes per report, how much voice recognition was invalid. We should get combat pay for doing some of these guys who obviously had their lips sewn shut. MM collects data on everything else... ...

I applied for a data entry job today after being unemployed for nearly 3-1/2 months. I can't seem to find anything I think I could start out doing after being home over the years.
