or some other monitoring company to make sure your information isn't misused. I'd be on them right away and make sure THEY pay for it.

It is just a form letter notifying me that the payroll company PayTime Right On The Money had a data breach and my data was compromised since Probity had used that payroll company. The offers free identity protection for one year and the option to get credit monitoring for an additional fee. There are a couple of stories online if you google paytime right on the money data breach.

but Probity hasn't used Paytime in awhile... they switched to Paychex several years ago. Why did this company still have our information?
I just got my letter today - .

I am not happy. I briefly worked for Probity after they bought out my company, but that was 8 years ago. I too would really like to know why all my personal data was kept after all this time with this payroll company. The pathetic free year of service they offer doesn't do a thing unless "a problem arises" (their words). I am under the impression that if I want to upgrade to the actual credit monitoring part of their service, it will cost me.
Other than my free credit report once a year, where does that leave me in doing my own monitoring? Paying for monthly credit reports beyond the one freebie each year? Paying for a credit-monitoring company?
Argh.

HIPAA Data Breach May 02, 2010I am reading far too many cases of MTs being fired/threatened for copying the wrong doctor on a report. While this constitutes an error, it does not (NOT) constitute a HIPAA breach.
HIPAA law is being wielded like an axe by misinformed management, with the regulations being used to threaten and fire a huge segment of the American workforce.
MTs fired for a "cc" issue need to report their job loss to their state labor department as well as the department of health and human se ...
Former Probity Now Nuance Jan 27, 2014Any former Probity now Nuance employees get their W2s yet? I've checked the Workforce now whatever that is for W2s and there is nothing there. Since we were with Paychex until near the end of December, Paychex should be sending them out, right? I cannot get my TSM, or whatever they are called now, to answer me.
Thanks in advance. ...

Wow...Nuance Acquired Probity? Look Out MModal.. Aug 29, 2013I can't wait to see who wins the war and which one is left standing. Two classic examples of money hungry, worthless management companies I have EVER worked at. I hope they BOTH wind up in the trash can bankrupt. I only wish MTs could band together and make that happen sooner rather than later. This is all just so senseless. Ruination of lives..... ...
Probity Offering Subsidy Since Sold To Nuance. Jan 05, 2014Is that typical for when a company is sold? I had not heard of it before. When does Probity plan to go to speech recognition? I see they have an ad on another site. Do new employees applying at Probity get the subsidy as well? I wonder if it is worthwhile to apply and work for them for the life of the subsidy (6 months) and then quit. Anyone from Probity have any insight on this? ...

Another Medical Record Breach Apr 05, 2010Below is a link to another breach of medical records. We can directly blame the fact that today's medical records largely dwell on the internet. Lest some of you come back with "but without the internet, we would not have jobs", let me tell you that we got along without the internet previously and had higher pay because the offshore vultures could not get at the records and we were in higher demand. We can do it again.

Data Entry Apr 14, 2014I applied for a data entry job today after being unemployed for nearly 3-1/2 months.
