Nuance timeclock question - worried

I'm a Transcender new to Nuance. Regarding the timeclock that we supposedly are gonna have to start using 12/22, can anyone tell me if it is possible to have multiple punches in a single day? The reason I ask is I cannot sit in a chair for much more than 2 hours at a time and I need to be able to get up multiple times while working. Is this allowed by Nuance or will I get canned once they find I cannot sit there for 8 hours straight? I am a good worker and can get my lines in daily, but have to spread it out over the day/night.

I punch in and out several times a day. I do a split shift but I also time out for short breaks off and on. They encourage us to time out if we are away from our desk to keep our statistics in line. However, we do have a general schedule we have to adhere to so can't stretch it out from sunup to sunset or anything. Does that help?

punch out for 10 minutes every 2 hours? Also check with your TSM or whoever and see what they say.

if it varies a lot from your scheduled hours, you will get an email. They definitely watch that schedule.

I have about 3 in/out punches per day due to getting kids from different schools and different times and have not gotten in trouble for that, as long as my schedule is pretty close and I get the right number of hours in.

Judging by the other posts, sounds like you should be okay - to work something out.

There are days where I have to punch out for various reasons whether I just find myself not concentrating or whatever and I just punch out and punch back in - as long as I get my hours in I have never had anything said to me. There are days where I just have to stop.

When are they actually going to tell - just curious

I don't work for Nuance, but most (I think maybe all) states have laws that require companies to give employees a meal break. Mine specifies 30 minutes if you work over 6 hours a day. I don't get it when I hear MTs say they think they have to sit for 8 hours straight without a break. Google your state's meal break laws. It matters not if you are working at home, as long as you are an employee you should be getting some kind of rest break. My company has our shifts run 9 hours which accounts for my 30 minute break plus time when my hands are not keyboarding or my foot is not pedaling, and my hours per day runs right around 8.

My state does not require the company to give me a meal break. There is the option for me to take time unpaid of course, but not required. Some states allow two 15 minute paid breaks if you work 8 hours, plus a lunch, but not all do that.

I think some of the confusion here is because folks that never worked for Nuance are posting responses. LOL. We are allowed breaks depending on how long your shift is plus your individual state rules would apply, if any.

When the time comes, set up your shift times appropriately to account for any longer breaks you need. You can split your shift.

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I received an incentive bonus this paycheck (for the first time ever). My QA score was 99.3%. So, I get an email today from my supervisor that my latest audit was only 98.2% and they are going to reaudit me in 2 weeks to see if my score is improving or if I need further disciplinary action. In house just got outsourced to Nuance. In our meeting, they said the PTO is 10 days total, which you have to use for holidays and sick time as well. So, if you take all 6 holidays (if that is even possible), you get 4 days off a year? Not even a week for vacation left over. I AM SO LIVID! These QCs are unbelievable! I used "and" instead of "the" and the QC marks me off for English misspelling/typo which is a 0.5 error instead of an English word misuse which is less at 0.25. There is someone who claims to be a QC for Nuance and that they are only paid minimum wage for this position. That is utter nonsense. Why would any experienced MLS take a minimum wage job in the MT industry when you could make more than that on production easily.
