Medical High plan versus HSA - anon

Why is it for the medical insurance the high plan is much more than the HSA? I see the same deductible, same out of pocket, neither offer co pays and pay 25% after the deductible and both offer prescription coverage.

The only difference - I could see was

One said PPO and the other did not. I thought that maybe the pool of physicians "in network" is different between the plans. Otherwise, I could not see the difference, except the HSA seems to be a better option than FSA.

The only difference I could see was that with the "high plan" you do not have to meet your deductible requirements first, i.e., you can take advantage of the discount benefits for the prescriptions even if you haven't met your deductible for the year.

With the HSA plan, in order to partake in the rx plan, you must have satisfied your deductible for the year. In other words, you're paying full price until deductible met. At least that's what I got out of it.

Frankly, my dears, this is the first I've ever heard of such a thing and I'm not pleased.

If you go to the website, this is mentioned. It was also touched upon in the webinar... very fleetingly.

Also, scroll down, about a week ago there were a couple of threads on the differences between the 2 insurances.

Oh, and one big difference is that with the HSA you will be able to establish a health savings account, if you wish to, and you don't forfeit it at the end of the year if any portion is unused. Also, if leave Nuance you can take your health savings account intact with you. That's a pretty big deal. Sorry that I almost forgot to mention it.

Why does Nuance not offer a parent/child plan? You are forced to buy a "family plan" that is rather expensive (thank God my husband has a good job with insurance). Most MLS are female which includes a lot of single mothers. You have all of the answers ANON - explain this one?

I have requested more work and have been turned down. I have asked for another account and the same thing, turned down.
