Do only the high producers get the grand treatment? - MTstatus

Posted: Mar 17, 2010

I have requested more work and have been turned down.  I have asked for another account and the same thing, turned down.  I have been switched over to cover many accounts and when asked was told that the high producers are working on other accounts and I need to switch to cover.  Every time I ask about anything at my company, the answer is that is only for the high producers.  I produce my required quota of 16,000 lines per pay with 98 or more percent accuracy.  I cannot be a high producer right now in my life due to other things going on.  Do they even look at how the high producers get their lines or do they care.  I just wanted to know if only high producers get the dream jobs and good treatment.  My TL also told me that she did not have a new account coming up, but then later admitted that she staffed it with only the high producers.   Am I not a good employee or only considered a good employee if I am a high producer?

You said, "Do they even look at how the high producers get their lines or do they care." Umm, being a high producer, I find that offensive.

They must have some reason to hold you back. Did you ask specifically the problem they have with you? That's the only way you're going to find out.

"High Producers" - typo

What exactly does "high producer" mean?

high producer - mt

I will take a wild guess and say it is someone who gets a high line count.

The OP says she gets her line requirements and can't do any more because of what she has going on in her life right now. Then she says she wants more accounts. Why should the MTSO give her more accounts if she is unable to do the work? I don't get it.
I can get the lines you $$$$, I just cannot produce - MTstatus

40,000 lines per pay like the high producer.
Wow .. I consider myself a high producer, but I've never done 40,000 lines in a pp! - LTMT

Unless you only get paid once a month, that's amazing. I need to brush up on my skills, I guess. :(
Don't know that I am a high producer but I average - SM

38,000 to 40,000 every pay period working FT. Not hard to do if you are only on 1 or 2 accounts consistently.
How long is your pay period and do you - do speech rec - nm

I was assuming he/she meant straight typing. If it is VR, then not so amazing after all. sm - LTMT

Most I have ever done straight typing was 35,000 in a biweekly pay period, and that was by killing myself. If someone can do that and more, cudos to you.
40,000 lines a pp - Lee

Wow!! I did the math. If a pay period is 2 weeks that is 2,000 lines an hour? If a pay period is 4 weeks, that is 1,000 lines an hour. I cannot help but question this even with VR, or did I read it incorrectly? Even at 1000 lines an hour that's 125 words a minute. hmmm no time for research in that scenario. A person would have to be a walking dictionary to do that, so why be an MT? Wow even at 1000 lines an hour if a person only worked 200 days a year that's $200,000 a year!!!

if you give company name you may get better explanation. - n/m

High VR Producers Who Do 400-700 LPH, Can You Say
Jan 24, 2010

I know some of you have taken a bashing, but I'm a believer and admire your skill.  I am curious about your definition of a line and how long you've had the same account(s).   I think most posters assume lines are defined at 65 characters including spaces, but that's not always the case (especially for those who work directly for hospitals or clinics, which many times are 60-character lines or less and include headers, footers, demos, etc.)   Can you give us an ide ...

To High Producers On M*Modal
Nov 04, 2010

I wondered if any of you who are good at M*Modal can give me some good pointers on getting faster with this program.  I have been working on it for about 6 months and don't feel I am gaining any speed on it at all.  The whole thing for me is having to reattach the cursor to the highlighter that is giving me the most trouble.  It is just awkward and such a stretch to hit that F12 key to reattach each time I have to make a correction.  I would be forever grateful!! :) &nb ...

The Grand 13... Here's A Thought For The Naysayers
May 15, 2012

While there are people against what the Grand 13 have done, there are also those out there that think 13 isn't enough.  Remember this, our country started with 13 Original Colonies that also had enough and had the guts to stand up for it.  This 13 (and the scores of others who have now joined this suit) are doing the same thing, only against Transcend and not the British or other government.  Just sayin... ...

Henry David Thoreau: "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation." And I will hasten to add the word "women" to the above quote.  I am one of those 'quiet desperation' people, as most of us are, until I personally faced an extreme economic situation with a utility company earlier this year.  I had a personal $25,000, yes, $25,000 dollar, situation on my hands regarding a water company that "stacks the decks" by placing former long-term employees of said water company into the ...
