I just don't care any more - Fatigued Fingers

Posted: Aug 07, 2014

FIESA and its humiliating and debasing scores, micromanagment, a bitchy supervisor, crap dictators, have all contributed to my feeling of just not caring any more.  I clock in, do my time, and clock out.  I know that my work is good and that my QA is much higher than FIASCO says it is, but I just don't care anymore. I am one of the older workers, and I have this feeling that NUisANCE is trying to get me to quit.  Well, guess what?  They're not going to win.  I'm going to stick it out until full retirement age or they fire me, whichever comes first.  In any case, I can't wait to get out of this business altogether.

Just don't care anymore- - I know just how you feel

and I don't work for N but with what has happened after working so many years it is hard to get the enthusiasm I once had doing this work when made to feel stupid and unappreciated. What everyone forgot looking at the $$ only, is that it takes a lot of intelligence to do these reports. I hope things brighten up for you and that you have things away from your job that make you happy, that is the only way I make it day in and day out. Problem is I can't wait to be done working!!

I hear ya! - I quit caring over

a year ago and as far as FIESA, I really don't give a crap about their so called corrections that have nothing to do with pt care. They might make me sign off on them, but they can't force me to learn anything from it! Like the poster said, I know I am a good MLS and I REFUSE to let Fiesa define me! I too, do no more than I have to, sign in, do my time, and sign out! Every day I can hardly wait to be done!!

What happens if you don't sign off on them. I haven't. I had 1 critical error. Other than - Questioning New Nuance MT

My lawyer said never sign anything without him seeing it first - I put a period . in the feedback box

And go on to the next item. I am not signing anything I cannot listen to again and refute. Also tired of having to correct "QCs" on their mistakes all the time!
Likely not much but it could be considered insubordination - AnonQC

And you aren't really "signing off" on it; you're merely acknowledging that you VIEWED THE CORRECTION -- something many posters on this site don't seem to realize. If you think it's wrong, challenge it. Your TSM will listen to the job, and if it IS wrong, it will be reversed.

Yes, take your time copying the mistake, emailing your TL (as I have done many times in the past), and don't even get a reply on things I KNOW are marked wrong, not just things I "think" are marked wrong.

I understand why MLS no longer care. I don't.
Probably less time than it took for your post - AnonQC

You are exactly right! No one wants us to be able to stay long enough to get retirement. All these newcomers switch jobs like they switch their under clothes. Everyone wants ICs, no one supplies PCs, but we're supposed to work long and hard with no help when the PC goes down. I'm not a programmer or an analyst so now use my own care to drive the PC 30 miles to someone who MIGHT be able to fix it. No working for days. No payment for downtime. No insurance benefits yet. But the non-MTs are still making money. Maybe a teamster or 2 would be willing to help us organize.....

There's an almost immediate sense of freedom - that comes with not caring anymore. S/M

Don't you agree? Suddenly all the ridiculous drama of this job: The politics, the performance management, the lousy dictators, the low pay, it just ceases to be such a big deal. There's a certain relief in knowing you've sunk about as low as you're gonna get, and that things just have to get better. You become aware that:

Unemployment isn't a death-sentence, it's a 6-month vacation.

Any job is likely better than this one.

They can write you up, they can fire you, but they can't KILL you.

Your blood pressure lowers, and you have time to do other things in life, in addition to job-hunting. Or, you finally decide to take that SS money, that allows you to take your time finding something else, preferably part-time and easy.

I remember the first time I realized I Didn't Care Anymore. I was inhouse, still, but it was already bad then, and the writing was on the wall as to where this job was headed. (India). I just stopped caring. It was Friday. I packed my car and gave myself a few days off, and took off for Lake Tahoe. I called in sick all week, and basked in the beauty of the mountains.

Good for you! Sometimes I call in sick just to give myself some me time. I don't look at World Client, I don't do FIESA, and I certainly don't check Spark. As I said earlier, just the bare minimum.

Don't care anymore - sigh

I'm experiencing utter apathy for the first time in 22+ years of MT. The last 3 years have aged me 20 years, and FINALLY my employer was abusive enough that they pushed me over my limit. Will they write me up? PLEASE DO. Sock it to me. Give me your best, because I no longer care. What if they fire me? NOT a problem. I'll find something else. They don't own my SOUL, and I'm saddened that I gave them so much power over me. I don't work for the evil N...just a Nuance wannabe. It's funny how you can finally take a deep breath when you realize it can't possibly get any worse, and the only direction left is UP. They can keep their freaking drama; I NO LONGER CARE. :)

Another Sad Option For Medical Care Is Charity Care. Work With The People
Nov 06, 2014

...bills. Most Saint hospitals and others actually operate as non-profits, and for what they are screwing us over in taxes unpaid, they can afford to help out folks with their bills and still give their CEOs generous stock options and obscene salaries! But, you have to ask for this after your visit, treatment, x-ray, or ER visit. ASK for help if you need it. It is not our fault that suits are in charge of medical care in this country.  ...

They Don't Care
Aug 16, 2011

How many times do you have to be hit on the head before you realize that THEY DON'T CARE.  MQ is on its own path.  You can write all the letters you want, contact the president, congresspeople, newspapers, TV, etc.  MQ DOES NOT CARE.  You could drop dead in front of their executive offices and they would just step over you.  THEY DON'T CARE!  The only thing that will ever turn this around is if hospitals refuse to accept off-shore work but considering the ...

MDs Don't Care, So Why Should We?
Sep 02, 2011

There you are, sittin at your desk, slammin your head into yet another mumbled dictation, desperately trying to divine the meaning of the muttering, frantically googling, stedman's open on your lap, cursing all foreign doctors everywhere, and then you get it! After ten minutes of listening intently, tilting your head to one side, pressing the headphones tighter, slowing down the incoherent ramblings, you finally figured it out. Feel proud afterwards right? Well, maybe you shouldn't. ...

Q-Care Help, Please
Mar 05, 2012

Can someone help  me, please? I thought I was organized, but realize I can't get into Q-care. Is that somethiing I was supposed to set up separately? I've tried everything and it says "error." I've tried my Ultipro password, e-mail address, Team Work password, everything. I'm one of those who was sort of "thrown in" during the takeover and had very little free time to set everything up. Just when you  think you're organized...   ...

I worked for Medquist 7 years ago.  I hated it.  I found another job at a company that I loved.  Worked there for a couple of years until the dreaded announcement that they had been acquired by Medquist.  After suffering from PTSD for a couple of days after hearing that news, i sucked it up.  nothing bad happened for a year or so.  then all the changes began.  again.  again, i sucked it up.  i've always loved being a medical transcription ...

Do You Care About Incentive
Mar 11, 2010

I work in-house doing radiology transcription, mostly VR.  The pay is hourly and there is no overtime on our job but there is also no incentive.  I'm trying to cut my expenses to have extra money but its tough.  I would like to work an extra few hours to save for vacation/a better running car/other purchases. Is there something wrong when a company does not offer incentive for MTs or should I be "just thankful for having a job when so many people are out of work in ...

You Know What, I Don't Care Anymore
May 31, 2011

I started in this profession back in the late 70s, learning "in house, on the job," my first job working from home, was when my kids were approximately 9 and 11 and obviously, not infants.  My mother was dying at that time, and I answered a local ad in the paper to pick up tapes in 1997 and transcribe for 5 cents a line.  Fast forward to the early 90s, we now have the "Lady Madonna Syndrome" -- meaning, I want to stay at home with my six or more children, home school and be SUPER mamma ...

Reporting F11 On Self Care
Jul 28, 2011

I keep a log of my F11s and report then all at once, at the end of the day, like instructed since a couple of months ago.  I apparently left one number out of the IJ# last week and just got a phone call.  I got chewed out about ABUSING F11!    I got so angry that I argued back that as the person that is having to attempt to decipher a ESL dictator using a poor quality system with disgustingly poor audio quality that I should be given a MEDAL to have made heads AND tails ...

How Much Evidence Do You Need That They Do Not Care?
Nov 30, 2011

I keep seeing posts here that include phrases like "if they cared about us..."  They don't care and have never cared.  My company was bought out about 15 years ago when we were still working in an office.  The story of how they moved us from our office to the "new" office is horrible enough to be part of a Stephen King novel and would make your skin crawl.  This is a company that operates by threats, intimidation and punishment and, after all these years, with all the ev ...

I had an unexpected "emergency" come up and even though payday is not till the 10th, my employer graciously wired my check into my account. They Care More About Your Shift
