How about a show of "likes," here. How many of you would participate in legal action for - time lost and stolen wages if made available?

Posted: Sep 17, 2014

Are there others with whom you have maintained contact that might, even if you are not interested or do not necessarily feel aggrieved?

Purely hypothetically speaking...

What if?

I would definitely like to see this happen.  I no longer work for Nuance, but I agree with this idea in principle since most all companies do this, expecting MTs to do a lot of things without any compensation whatsoever.  Check out the link included in this post.

How about a show of likes - Definitely

Like, like, like

If there is a lawsuit regarding unpaid wages for work - What is the point?

[ In Reply To ..]
then we'll get a class action lawsuit letter. A show of Likes is not going to do it.

No one click on link in binca's post. It might be a trick link to trace your - device. Nuance is very good at that.

...but, by all means if you would be a paticpant in any lost time or stolen wages litigation if it were to materialize, please like the post above. If you have friends or former coworkers that no longer visit this board frequently, please contact them and ask them to do so also.

Your assistance is appreciated!

Really, how could they trace your device - just by a link?

The link is only to the Transcend lawsuit lawyer, not Nuance. How would they be able to do that?

You mean like the Transcend lawsuit, --sm - anon

Has that not been going on for a few years now? Will Nuance still be in business by the time that lawsuit is resolved?

Transcend lawsuit - Fatigued FIngers

I am sooo regretting not joining the lawsuit when I had the chance. Color me regretful.

I'd agree as long as AHDI doesn't involved..... - Just me

They got a million bucks out of MQ when they didn't pay MTs correctly, so I wouldn't hold my breath on Nuance MTs getting anything. Theoretically it sounds good and just the volume of "QA" they do should nail them pretty good since you're required to review their QA and then get to spend time fighting to get incorrect scores reversed.

I really can't believe this....well I can. I quit Medquist three weeks ago. I promptly received my labels to return my equipment which included a letter saying I needed to return the equipment within 14 days.....5 DAYS LATER...I get a letter via UPS, which I had to sign for, saying I MUST return the equipment within 7 days or legal action will be put upon me!!! Really??? First of all, I've been trying unsuccessfully to find a box and packing to protect the computer in transit, but furt ...

IS THERE ANY LEGAL ACTION WE CAN TAKE
Apr 03, 2013

For constantly getting no jobs on your shift anymore?  This is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!  It has been since December and is just getting constantly worse!  My shift is supposed to be 5 hours and I very rarely get more than 2.5 hours of work, tonight just 2 hours!  My supervisor says she has too many MTs in our group, SO WHY AREN'T WE MOVING PEOPLE AROUND!?  There must be something legally that can be done about this!  It is totally unfair!  I have worked for ...

NJA - Legal Action
Aug 05, 2013

Has anyone spoken to a lawyer about NJA and not being paid for that time, or being forced to use our PTO, even though it's not our request to have a day off? Just wondering, because I'm thinking of speaking to a lawyer, can't imagine this is legal. ...

MAY 1. Another Way To Participate If It's Just Too Risky.
Apr 27, 2012

A strong message sent on one day by a large number of people is good, but it's not the only way to to make ourselves felt.  We can do quiet little personal protests, and more of them. Days, even hours, can be taken off other days through the entire summer. Production drops, sick pay rises. PROFITS FALL OFF. They'll get the message. I've just decided to join my sister on a tour of gardens in a city I don't get to very often (date unspecified, of course). After that ...

For Those Who Participate In The 401K Plan....
Dec 04, 2009

I got the annual shareholder report that came with a form that looks like they want some kind of vote?  Are we supposed to mail this back or what?  First of all, I didn't know I was a "shareholder" of anything.  Unless it's true that they pay their 401K with MQ stocks?  I knew you could buy them (though I wouldn't on my own)....but I also heard a while back that MQ pays their 401K with stocks.  Anyone know anything about this voting/proxy form and/or if it ...

Town Hall Meeting - Not To Participate
Nov 08, 2012

I guarantee you I won't be one of the "chosen few" to participate with questions in this town hall meeting next week, I cause too much trouble by sending e-mails throughout the year to Vern and Amy, never to any avail.  I just hope whoever they DO pick will ask some tough questions.  Of course, I'm sure MModal will pick and choose what they answer so they don't look like the conniving thieves they really are. ...

Jun 29, 2012

"Richard Gwinn, MD, director of urgent care at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group in San Diego sings voice recognition's praises: "It took me less than one-half hour from the time I first opened Dragon Medical to the time I was using it. It’s been a life changing application. I go home earlier. I don’t have stacks of charts on my desk and the swelling has gone down in my fingers (from typing).” This was taken off Nuance's FB page. ...

As Long As You Are Miserable, You Get Likes, If You Have A
Apr 25, 2014

I posted below under are you happy section and responded to someone who said Americans are not spoiled which I very much think I am (now). I told about how life is for me and got so many dislikes; however if you post about your terrible life, cannot find nor keep a job, have to go on goverment assistance, not knowing where your next meal is coming from, not enough to pay your rent, everyone then is like a cheerleader all in your corner. When Giving Opinions Of Various Companies Whether Likes Or Dislikes
Aug 31, 2012

Most people are vague in their comments.  Give the details i.e. why you don't like the platform, why you don't like the benefits.  Or what type of benefits, how much you pay for the benefits, etc., how many vacation days you get, how is the vacation/sick pay calculated, hourly or average of lines, etc. ...

From A Dialup Employee Who LIKES 6.1, And I Am More Concerned Now About Crackdown On Required To Sen
Sep 15, 2010

Okay, enough already my dear friends and colleagues.   This "mutiny" has gone on far enough to long.   I was  very concerned because I am one of those who has dial up.   I am used to slow response time, and YES it has affected my production because of waiting.   So, I was very, very worried.  I did have to take my MQ computer to my parents and use their DSL to do the training and the download of the 6.1.   Support was great, they found ...

Call To Action-ASR
May 28, 2010

We have talked about unions, organizing, etc.  Probably not very realistic.  But surely there is some way to have our voices heard in numbers regarding the fact ASR is not the product they tell us it is.  All these numbers being based around the fact we can be so much more productive on ASR are lies.  If it were true, we would all shut up and produce.  Our voices are not being heard.  MQ should stand behind their claims.  I tried again to get positive changes m ...

Fair Pay, Collective Action
Aug 14, 2011

MedQuist has steadily decreased its pay for speech recognition to a level that forces experienced medical transcriptionists into poverty.  Currently, speech recognition at 300 lines per hour pays less than that earned by a nursing assistant with only 2 weeks of training. We are calling for a universal action beginning 1 September 2011, with a demand that MedQuist increase the speech recognition rate to at least 85% of what we earn with straight transcription.  EFFECTIVE September 1, 2 ...

Class Action Lawsuit?
Apr 08, 2013

Wondering how/if all of us who work for MModal can start a class action lawsuit against them?  What for you ask?  Oh gee......lying to us, taking our work away from us, saying they'll pay a certain amount but really do not, bad TSMs.....etc, etc.  What all those are called in legal terms, I have no idea.  I am 60 years old and not close to retirement age yet.....Michigan does not allow part time UE, so what the heck am I going to do for a living for the next 2 years?&nbs ...

Class Action Suits. All The Comments Below That Nothing
Apr 05, 2014

can be done. That is SO NOT true, and I hate to state the obvious, the elephant in OUR room here, that its likely management trolls.  The law firm listed below is fantastic.  And class actions work where 1 or 2 Plaintiffs step up and its converted to a class action for all employees. That's where ya sit back, don't have to do squat, the pros go over payroll and you get compensated if wages are calculated to be do you. Its simple, NOT some big drama fest.  This IS America ...

Five Months In & I Got My First 'corrective Action' Today
Jul 24, 2014

According to MModal: "MT failed to meet the lines per hour production requirement for PPE 7/19/14. MT’s LPH during that pay period was 106.  Issuing verbal corrective action." My reply: "There seems to be a discrepancy with the LPH, because according to Fluency, I'm usually above the 150/hour.  But short of limiting restroom breaks until after work, having a DSL line that is working superiorly and enduring 8 hours of continuous lower back pain without stretching my leg (I ...
