Are there any companies other than Nuance that would provide a semi-decent wage, no FIESA, a computer and work? I have been working for this company for 3 years now, and it only gets worse. The nit-picking on QA, slow down to "get it right", then get chastised for lines being low. No way you can re-read every report. 99.5 is pretty dang high for the quality of the dictators and sound quality. I am really, really tired of making nothing. After all, I only have 27 years experience. I think I know what I am doing, but QA disagrees.

I am in the same boat as you. If anyone knows of a reputable company looking for a part-time MT, I would love to know. I am running into multiple frustrations with this company as well. I have been an MT for 15 years and have never experienced a company that was so UN user friendly. I have difficulty understanding the feedback and the formatting alone is killing me as I cant copy and paste something I question to search it, I have to retype it all over again when doing the search. When I run into issues, there doesnt seem to be any one to contact and if I do find someone they dont know how to resolve the issue. I used to work for Probity and they were the best company around. Too bad Nuance bought them out. Now I am making between 5-8 dollars an hour which is ridiculous.

way better than Nuance. I just hope I can catch on to everything. Win XP computer but will be changing to a newer model later. Don't know about part time though.

That's a bit more than what I'm making now, but I wonder if the platform is friendly. I happen to like EditScript platform, which is Nuance's, and I find he editing features to be effective and helpful.

However, I don't agree with every complaint about Nuance. For instance, getting 99% accuracy overall on a regular basis is not that difficult, considering that 2 blanks are generally allowed and excused and you're not marked down for it at all, if it's reasonably considered difficult or even impossible to decipher a word. In fact, you can have 4 blanks and still get 100% score on a report if a dictator talks like gibberish. So the worse the quality of dictator, the more you're generally excused. Sometimes even QA can't decipher it and considers it to be a "valid blank", according to comment in FIESA. However, it's IMPOSSIBLE to make DECENT INCOME. Companies like this contribute to more and more poor people in America.

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
