I haven't installed the upgrade yet. I'm scared!! I also haven't heard anything from my CCM about getting it done so I'm just plugging away as before. She has emailed me this weekend and today but it was for regular stuff and even called me yesterday to help out (which I did), but made no mention about me not getting on the 6.1 bandwagon yet.

Anyone else still not using it?

I did do the tutorials and sent in my pass codes. I wouldn't be afraid; I'm pretty sure you can shut off just about everything that shows up on the screen. It looks like it works more like microsoft word, which is a pain unless you shut off all the grammar stuff.

Man if I had the choice again I would have ignored the dumb contest and my CCM pushing for installation by last Friday. However, I am on the naughty list for other things (like complaining about NJA) and I figured for me 6.1 was a battle I didn't want to fight. I am seriously trying to fly under the radar here until my FT job elsewhere is available. But if I would you I would ignore 6.1 until they absolutely force you to do it.

When people didn't take the HIPPA class they locked them out of the system, but I can't see them pulling drastic measures like that with the 6.1 installation. Note I am not saying upgrade, more like a slowgrade :)

I just worry that 6.1 might "magically" show up after - L&L

I think though with all the problems and support being backlogged I don't think any "magic" will be happening until they have resolved some of the problems. In fact, we are supposed to be do tech's job too by sending a diagnostic report every time a job fails to upload or computer slows down. So if we are to be techs too it will be a cold day in MQ before the glitches get fixed because who can send a report when your computer is frozen?

to be downloaded and installed. You won't exactly get locked out of working, but you will get a message when you try to sign in that you need to download DQ and it won't progress past that point until you do. That's been my experience with version changes in the past.

I have absolutely no idea why everyone is "scared" - of 6.1

I am the biggest freak about change, and I notice nothing different. I turned off spell feature, I number the way I always have, and the headings are done the same as always.

The physician list is barely different, even though everyone complains.

What is the big deal???

Nice that it's not a big deal FOR YOU, however the "big deal" is that many people are having problems with it, from a technical standpoint, not operational.

WHOA! (pun intended...) Too often on this forum the conversations digress. Lets all stay in the saddle. It's been hard for all of us and we are suppose to be a TEAM.

I already installed it,been working with it for the week now. Getting better. Change is not always good, but when mandated by the mighty Q, it's best to get it done and get on with it.

I find the sooner I do the training and make the changes, the faster I learn and therefore get back to normal.

6.1 is not that bad. I think it would be best to just get it done.

Honestly, you'd be in a good position running with a newer machine, anyway. 6.1's minimum specs are 2GB RAM and, uhhh... can't remember the CPU. Ehhh.

As an example, I have a Intel Dual Core T7700 machine with 4GB running Win7 64bit, and 6.1 runs like a top for me.

I turned off the spell check on the fly.

I don't have that huge list of headings on the left (and if I did, I could turn that off too). I think it is account specific.

So, there isn't much difference that I can tell. I am using 32-bit Vista and had no issues with the download at all.

I upgraded, had so many problems and could not get jobs to download so, Q-Care finally at midnight on Thursday gave me back the old system. I will not download 6.1 again unless I have to. Did no one try this stuff out first so they could fix all the problems? I feel sorry for the people who work in Q-Care, but more sorry for the people trying to get reports out and make some money!

I am currently using EMDAT as my platform. My company recently upgraded from 4.95 to 4.96. I keep getting a Microsoft error every time I try to upgrade. I called EMDAT, and they told me it was because I use a broadband Satellite internet connection??? They can't help me. Now what? Is it just me or my region but the only difference I have seen in the upgrade is the doctor's data base and being able to number with the numbering function. I have yet to see the headings column come up on the left with a job or have the option on the top that says "type headings as dictated." When I try to use the alt-H for inserting headers it it is still coming up in the middle of the screen and it is not showing, "client preferred headings." Pretty much anything that ...

that it now capitalizes the next letter after a period with one space. Is there a trick to make that not happen when I have to insert a word before the next word ("the" or whatever). I had problems with the upgrade and my talented computer geek husband just arrived home. My problem was it said something about needing a version #2 to upgrade (which is ancient, according to him). He did his magic and I am now upgraded ! YAY ! He wanted me to say "For upgrade to 6.1 you need Internet Explorer. It doesn't work with Foxfire so use IE to get version #2." I have IE7 on my computer as it works perfectly with my companies' platforms; however, lately, Google, You Tube, Facebook, it seems all the sites are telling me it's time to upgrade to IE8. I've noticed several things since the last Fluency upgrade and I was wondering if anyone else has noticed these same problems. According to an MM communications email, we were supposed to upgrade to 7.3 by February 24 or we would not be able to log in. Well, it's past the 24th, and I can still log in.
