Tier 2 testing: who passed, who did not pass, - other info on it you can give? TIA n/m

I'm a tier 2...never tested to be a 2,and didn't even know what tier I was until I got an email saying all tier 1's needed to test up to a 2 and questioned it. I don't know what the difference is between a 2 and a 1. I did ask to test up to a 3, was told they needed to do an audit first...this was last week and still haven't heard anything. I'm really not in a rush though as doing new work (ops) means it will slow me down and make my line count even lower.

was told Tier 1 is clinic which are disappearing, Tier 2 is acute w/out op notes, Tier 3 is acute w/op notes.

Was told if test and pass Tier 2, it will be more money.

I said why need I test for a level I have been doing for a while; was told just to make sure.

What's crazy is I worked 7 years on a Clinic account, 90 physicians, 15 specialities, I worked on all specialites, did outpatient surgeries, and it was harder than the Tier 2 account I am on now.

Op notes are the forbidden reports. They are not allowed to be in your pool and you are not allowed to get any sort of practice or mentoring help, but expected to know how to do them and pass the test with a 99% or whatever the new magic number is at the time. The first time I tried I got a 96 but it took them 9 months to get me my results back and all I got was a number, no feedback or any sort of indication what I was doing wrong. The second time they never sent me the test and when I followed up they said 30 days had passed and they needed to do yet another audit to determine if I was "worthy" to be allowed to take the secret test. Only at Mmodal do you take a test without studying or preparing first or getting any sort of practice or mentoring. Thank goodness they are not in charge of giving out driver's licenses. Maybe they have improved things since I tried to tier up and you will have a better experience. As for me, I gave up. When they decide to get serious and put a mentoring program in place or any kind of help whatsoever in preparing for the test they might get better results.

"only at MModal do you take a test without studying or preparing, getting practice or mentoring." No way should they help you. It is not feasible to study for every note you are going to get and MModal hires MTs, does not train them. You need that basic knowledge up front. If you can't pass the test, that means you probably don't have the knowledge base they are looking for. On the internet you have tons of places to go for sample tests as well as the intranet. I would start there and get to know the common medical terminology that might be required these days, looking for grammar, form, techniques, instruments, and on. I do wish you luck. If you want it badly enough, you can do it!

Is this really true? I was already on the fence about it....I despise ADHI but at the same time realize having CMT could possibly help find a job and sometimes (rarely) get a CMT diff. Not to mention the test cost $300 whether you pass or not. So now you have to pay to pass the RMT? This can't be true.
