They put out an update and say it is compatible with windows 8, I call to get the specs so I can buy a laptop tonight and travel for Christmas only to be told that it doesn't work will all windows 8, try it and see...So now what do I do? I have to lug a full sized computer, et al with me for the holiday..Seriously pissed.

Well, gee, would they tell you which version? I see there are 4 versions, although one is for tablets and another is only available for businesses. I wouldn't be surprised if they chose the one only for businesses. Otherwise, there is home and pro like there is for Win7.

that it works for some windows 8 (no specifics) and not others. I thought when Fluency 3. whatever the heck the last one is, they said it would work for windows 8. I would have had my son pick me up a windows 7 from Tiger Direct since he lives in Raleigh, so now I am stuck can't go to Best Buy and just "pick up" a windows 7 computer or Walmart, or Target, I looked.

My mother just went through this. Hated Windows 8 kept crashing - sons PC also has been repaired 3 times

all due to Windows 8. The repair shop we took my mom's to had a PC with Win7 on it so she just bought that one rather having it fixed. you CAN find windows 7 but you have to use a person rather than a big box retailer. Good luck!

Didn't want windows 8 anyway,,should have gone with my gut and got the 7 but this time of year money is tight so waited till last minute.. :-( and the sad part is, I will lug my entire computer to work Christmas Day and we will run out anyway.

like I said check with a repair shop. they build PCs to your specification - my guy can even load XP

My PC did an automatic update to Win8 - anon

And I couldn't even work on it. It took WEEKS to figure out why the heck my computer crashed/froze every 5 minutes. It was an absolute nightmare. Once I found out about the update I immediately uninstalled Win8 and my system defaulted back to my old Win7 and now it runs perfectly. Haven't had a problem since.

I was looking for the BOS, 3rd edition. This only comes in the book format and on-line yearly subscription. It does not come on a CD-ROM. Why is MModal posting job openings, when so many of use are running out of work or worse falling into the pool--what with the pay cuts, VR being paid half even though it takes nearly as long to edit most reports, and the fact that I only get my "primary" accounts about 30% of the time and the rest of the time I am typing from the pool so that nearly every report that comes up is a new facility or dictator, I have gone from making $16 an hour to minimum wage. I see so many complaints about MModal. Does anyone actually like them? I'm in the hiring process and they are calling with an offer. I would like to try it out. I work in-house now, but eventually my position will be eliminated due to VR. I do not make that great of pay, and have lots of down time, but still have to sit in the office all day. Left MModal 18 mos. ago and have been on here encouraging everybody that there is life after MQ/MM. This week my wonderful clinic goes live with EMR. The trainer won't even recognize transcription. I am so sick of Mmodal. I resigned recently and I keep getting letters to return things that I have never ever owned or received or stuff that I had sent back to them years ago. The DEPOT apparently is as ignorant as the rest of them. SO glad I found real job that pays, respects and appreciates their employees. I have only one PC to return and they sent me five boxes and a bunch of labels and stating that I have in my possession 7 different things.... OMG.. what a joke!!! ...

can you specify exactly what laws they have broken? Yes, we are all unhappy here, but I cannot see that they have done anything they cannot do legally. The last judgment against them was for witholding pay. I think they are too smart to break laws again. What do you expect to gain anyway by suing a company that has filed bankruptcy, which is always a very smart business move to make if you can get away with it. ...
