can you specify exactly what laws they have broken?

Yes, we are all unhappy here, but I cannot see that they have done anything they cannot do legally.

The last judgment against them was for witholding pay. I think they are too smart to break laws again.

What do you expect to gain anyway by suing a company that has filed bankruptcy, which is always a very smart business move to make if you can get away with it.

I agree; MM has its bases covered, you can bet your booty on that and even if you win, what then. The last time that happened, no one was reimbursed for the lines they weren't paid for; they were given some stupid, nothing of a membership. The best way to bring this place down is to quit and quit now. I worked for MM and couldn't take it, I had to get out and I did. There are jobs out there. I applaud your efforts, but feel they are futile and you will only be hurting yourself. Use that time and energy to go back to school, learn a trade, taking coding classes or just find another job; either transcription or something else. Don't let MM take any more of your positive energy away from you. Get out and don't look back. Even if half of the MTs quit, that would being them to the knees.

LOL and chances are that new job will eventually - bring you back to MM in buyout.

Thank you for you reply. It is so disheartening to see so many of co-workers, editors being so dissatisfied with the way company treats them. What happened to the transcription field?

I have researched all aspects I could come up, and have not found a single point of action. Unfortunately, unreasonable "quality" requirements does not satisfy the elements for a hostile work environment legally speaking from what I have researched.

As far as bankruptcy, Chapter 11 is restructuring of debt. I don't know how often a company could file Chapter 11. But, if they file Chapter 7, we would all be SOL. Definitely would not want to file until Chapter 11 is completed.

Absolutely insane and horrendous, but unfortunately, there's no law against it. I also feel that the expectation of 99.8% quality is really farfetched, but unfortunately that's also not against the law. It is their company and they have the right to make their own rules.

As far as most other complaints I've read, I think those complaints are fairly typical for any MTSO, not just MM; they're all like that.

You can't make everyone into a good transcriptionist. You have to really love the work and there has to be a payoff besides being home or you won't stick with it. They fail in making their employees feel valued, so in the end it will be a loss for them.

shouldn't we get paid for everything we transcribe, including cc's, info we enter into the ADT screen, headers, footers, etc? I am sure MM charges the client for all of the above.

Don't forget being required to manually enter all those CC's and ADT info - for free when supposed to be paid for every typed

Why is MModal posting job openings, when so many of use are running out of work or worse falling into the pool--what with the pay cuts, VR being paid half even though it takes nearly as long to edit most reports, and the fact that I only get my "primary" accounts about 30% of the time and the rest of the time I am typing from the pool so that nearly every report that comes up is a new facility or dictator, I have gone from making $16 an hour to minimum wage. I see so many complaints about MModal. Does anyone actually like them? I'm in the hiring process and they are calling with an offer. I would like to try it out. I work in-house now, but eventually my position will be eliminated due to VR. I do not make that great of pay, and have lots of down time, but still have to sit in the office all day. I am so sick of Mmodal. I resigned recently and I keep getting letters to return things that I have never ever owned or received or stuff that I had sent back to them years ago. The DEPOT apparently is as ignorant as the rest of them. SO glad I found real job that pays, respects and appreciates their employees. I have only one PC to return and they sent me five boxes and a bunch of labels and stating that I have in my possession 7 different things.... OMG.. what a joke!!! ...

It took a stupid pill. It skips at least a fourth of the words, uses commas and back slashes like most people use salt and pepper of course skipping the words where it puts the commas in, puts in stuff that is not even close to what is dictated. These companies pay for their stuff to be run through this ridiculous program. Why are the bosses allowing this low quality to come through unless they own part of mmodal. Does not make sense. ...
