entering all these CCs, why are we required to do it? Aren't we by contract supposed to be paid for every character we type?? How are they getting away with this? I just spent over 10 minutes searching and entering CCs for about a 12-line report. So the majority of the time I spent on the report, I didn't even get paid for.
What I do - old and burned out

A few years ago, a company got sued by the employees for this practice so now it's "figured into" the line rate.
I have an account right now that requires TONS of looking up names and entering them manually as well as splitting reports. I haven't made my minimum line count in over six weeks, since I started on it.

If they think they figured it in, they figured wrong because it takes me way longer to do all the things they aren't paying me for than to actually do the report! How is that fair or legal... No wonder we're all struggling to just make minimum wage. Companies used to actually pay for everything in the report because you can bet they charge for it.

[ In Reply To ..]If you go to Fluency and go to your statistics, choose "detail" from the drop down box, click on the internal job number, there will be a drop down box at the bottom named "job views." In that drop down, choose "count log file (payroll)." Scroll down towards the bottom and it shows a breakdown of every character you are being paid for.
Worked DQS, different MTSO. Doing just this showed me - MTSO was stealing lines from us. nm

My other point is there is a line count program that can count those lines in the format delivered to the client

SOme make more than others for doing the same work. OOOO, another reason for a law suit (geesh). Nowhere in my contract does it say I will be paid for the same exact lines that the facility is billed on.

When you look up a report that you have done in the past the output view choices include what you see in DQS, rtf and the client's view. One of those views comes up as a word doc. Sylcount can count everything, including headers and footers in rtf and in word docs, but MM will only use their own counting program creation. I truly wonder if the client gets charged for headers and footers. I would like to see the billed count for any document(s) I have done. MQ/MM is the only MT employer I have ever worked for that did not pay for headers & footers (ADT entries) and for cc info entered.

I've been working with my company for almost a year now and i'm wondering if I should start looking around at other compaines. I graduated from M-Tec last summer and got a job about a month later, they started me at 0.055 cpl, then in December bumped me up to 0.06 cpl. . . . we have to retype the entire VR job because it is 99% WRONG. It seems like it is getting worse instead of better. The last week practically every job has every fifth word right but the rest is wrong. At some point it quits being voice recognition and is pure transcription.
