Was wondering the same thing. Next week, I'm going to try to call someone about it. Thing is, I shredded or dumped 95% of my MT/ME stuff from 25 years and I don't think I even have the support number anymore. This just goes to show how incredibly inept THAT company is.
Laid off, haven't received pickup labels either - Kiki

All I got was that letter saying the decision was difficult to let me go, thanks for your service, blah blah blah. It also said I will have been mailed separately the mailing labels for return of the computer.

I was terminated around the same time as you all. I received a call today and they are mailing a box and label. He was not very nice at all.

Just curious if the person who called was American or overseas. I will be glad to get rid of the last stinking MModal thing.

Believe it or not he did not sound foreign just plain rude. the box arrived today and the name on the label is a common American name but honestly you cannot really tell by a name. I am sure they will be in touch. I am glad to pack it up and move on. It's older than dirt and another chapter I can chalk up to experience. Let us know if you ever hear anything
What can they do if you don't return it. - nooooo

I wouldn't want to go to that much trouble if I got terminated.
They want their computer back. I suppose you can keep keyboard and - foot pedal, but would not try holding computer. SM

They will probably call and harass you if you don't. It was very easy. Unhook computer, put in box and Fedex comes and collects it.
Wasn't saying I won't return computer - Nice

I just meant UNTIL they call for the computer. Doing the CC Clean-up thing is super easy. Just meant that I could make use of the computer as an extra tool. I would never "steal" or try to keep it if they want it back, just doesn't seem like they want it back. (P.S. I edited my post because I really should stop being too personal sometimes.) I WILL keep the monitor because it really is mine. They never gave me a decent one so I got one on my own way back. The foot pedal, etc. they don't want and who knows...maybe I might work at home someday again. Hoping to be early-retired though. I am enjoying the extra time....never bored.

All they want us the C P U unless you had a monitor over do many inches which is hilarious. I'm not the other poster but I agree with you. They need to reach out to you with directions. I guess their return directions are as random as their terminations. Have a good weekend. I have my weekends free now.
When I worked for Transtech, they provided my computer, and when Imedx tookover, I got email that they were transferring ownership to the employees. They didn't say why, but I figured it's probably for taxes, not sure though. Anyhow, if giving notice to Imedx, do they request computers be returned, no matter if it was from TT or not? ...
I read that Medmedx supplies computers but you can only have Cable or DSL connection.
I live in an area where I cannot get cable or DSL. I have a wireless connection.
My question is, do they allow you to use our own computers?
Thanks for your time and have a great day? ...
I am in the process of transitioning jobs and will be going from a company-provided computer to my own. Any suggestions on what software programs are needed, virus protection, word expanders, line counting, and hardware like foot pedal? The hospital I am looking into will be using Microsoft Word. Any comments on whether this is a good program or not to transcribe on? Any tips? I have been with the same company for 15 years, so have been out of the loop and need ...
I currently have a company-issued computer and when hired I think I signed the boiler plate agreement not to add any programs. I really want to load my Instant Text so I do not have to rebuild everything. I am not tech saavy so was wondering if the company can tell if I actually put anything on the computer? I know they can go into my computer if I use a program that allows them to get into my machine and make adjustments but not sure if they can monitor it in any other way? Thanks for a ...
I gave notice last week. I hate everything about this company EXCEPT I love their computer and monitor. Does anyone know if keeping it rather than returning it is an option?...and if so, if they ask a ridiculous amount of $$ to do so? ...
I currently have a company-provided computer that I work from (Webmedx). I think I remember somewhere a long time ago that I can have the option of buying the computer if I leave the company. Does anyone know any info on this? If I quit Nuance, can I buy this computer from them? I don't have another one. TIA! ...
I'm just talking about employees here, not ICs. It amazes me that as a company employee, we would not be provided the most important tool we need to work with all set up to company specs, loaded with company s/w. If we worked on site, would we be expected to bring in our own computers? I don't think so.
Thanks. ...
Nuance says they will make a $300 loan toward purchase of a personal computer to work on te account, paid in 26 installments. I know a decent computer that has their specifications will cost more than that. What to do? I'm on Dictaphone now. ...
I was a medical transcriptionist from 1999-2006, and 2007-2008. I worked in a regional health center; did all sorts of reports. And then suffered major burnout. I'm working retail and not really getting by at all. So, I'm considering the once-unthinkable: Returning to MT.
My problem is that I'm not up-to-date on things - the latest procedures, drugs, instruments, anything. I have no idea if my typing skills are up to snuff. I do know I want to do at-home work again as ...
Recently resigned from MQ and received the mailing labels to ship back their computer and monitor. However, per the letter, they don't require that you return the mouse, keyboard, and any other peripherals. It doesn't say you will be charged for them -- it just says they want the computer and monitor.
Has anyone left MQ and kept the keyboard and mouse?

I was a medical transcriptionist for about five years in the late '90s. Now that my kids are both going to be in school full-time, I'd like to go back to work. I was able to get an old set of SUM tapes and a transcriber on ebay, so I'm going to be spending the next few months re-learning what I've lost over the years. At the same time, I will be calling around town to see if I can find some work. I used to do a lot of chiropractic, which was really eas ...
I quit working for MM in September and haven't heard word about returning their stuff. Can't get any phone numbers and can't get in touch with my old CCM. Any ideas what I should do? ...
Morning everyone (or afternoon, depending on time zone). I'm returning to MT home work after a 2-year absence for family health issues. Have there been any mind-bending changes in the 2 years that I have been gone?? Is VR still 4 cpl? Have dangerous abbrevs changed? Is the basic 9 cpl still in effect? Also, what is the download for MT testing (something like express scribe -- I can't remember). Anyway thanks for taking time to read this.

An MTSO that had always had a great rep. The changes have just been coming hand over fist of late, and I am wondering if the higher pay at MQ may be worth the switch back to be able to have my normals and DQS. Im frustrated and watching my paycheck dwindle at this MTSO even though they have been good to me otherwise. I quit MQ with the cesspool and horrible QASAR and inconsistent QA. Any comments or MQ updates?

Greetings from the great state of Oklahoma! I have returned to the MT field after many years as a teacher, and have recently re-taken my MT certification (I have a prior 2-year degree in the field from 1994.)
I am currently searching for a position either from home or on-site. Any advice?
Thank you, Mary

Just wondering if anyone else out there has left Nuance and been able to return company equipment? How long did it take for you to get the slip to return it? Did you get your deposit back after you sent your equipment? ...
Last summer, after being laid off from my hospital MT job due to cost cutting in our department, I went back to work in the office, working as a receptionist for a family practice. I was also transcribing the office notes and correspondence as well. At Christmas, we were told that the doctor had decided to sell his practice to the local hospital. We were promised raises and I particularly, because of my 20 years as an MT, was promised a position doing MT for the hospital. ...
Can someone who works for or has worked for Nuance tell me what address to return my equipment to? I just ended my employment with them and have a foot pedal that I need to return to them but I cannot get anyone to answer my emails asking what address to send it to. Help!!! ...
Help. I need advice. I just got a new job and no one will talk to me. I have been there 7 days. The first week was fine, but now I feel like I am getting the cold shoulder. The guy who is supposed to train me acts like I should already know what I am doing. I do image scanning now and have a year's expereince, but all scanner systems are different. I feel like I am catching on pretty well, but he is giving me no feedback, good or bad. I have been very friendly and asking peo ...
When I started with WMX the instructions were to keep original boxes for return of equipment if you wanted your deposit back. It's been 3 years, I am not planning on going anywhere and getting tired of those boxes taking up space in my laundry room. Anyone have experience with sending them back in non-original boxes and still getting deposit back? ...
as well? Last time I quit they only wanted the tower back. Preparing to leave very, very soon but haven't given notice yet so thought I would ask you guys. ...
Anyone know what number to call at MModal or where to email to tell them to send boxes for their equipment? I told my CCM, but have not received anything and I threw everything else away that vaguely reminded me of MModal! ...
The reason I ask this question is for my internet I have a USB modem. Do the computers supplied by Q have any extra USB ports so I can plug my Verizon in there?
Thanks! ...
I have been out of transcription for almost 2 years. Long story, but a combination of health problems coinciding with job loss due to cutbacks. Anyway, I worked for 3 years transcribing for local multi-specialty clinics. I realize now that was probably a mistake since everyone is hiring for acute care (which I have done but that was 10 years ago). I have recently seen some companies that are hiring for clinic transcription, but I need to "refresh" my knowledge and skills ...
I am working at a company who observes certain holidays and we are required to work 4 of them, but this is the first company I have ever worked where I have to use my PTO on the holiday I am supposed to be off. Does your company do the same?
Thank you! :) ...
up and I'd be back at square one, making no more than their "maximums." I wonder, are this new maximum pay going to stay the same (or lower)? I mean, in 5 or 10 years (if we are still here) will it be the same? Or less? I think so. ...
