Maybe it's illegal, but if you get a transcription job, you can cut and past from repository reports (if available).

yeah... I would seriously watch that! - not me!

I would never do that! There are so many errors in those samples. Not only that, you still have to follow along and make sure every darn word is correct, kind of reminds me of ASR and I hate ASR!

I don't think you can cut and paste, but you can copy and paste. I wish someone would tell us if this is "legal" or not. It could be very helpful. Of course, one would have to read the whole thing against the voice, but it's at least a guideline.

Does anyone know the answer to this? I would think if it was "illegal" to copy and paste, the copy feature would be turned off when you're in the Repository.

I've done it a few times. It's only been on the review of systems and PE when I absolutely cannot understand what the doctor is saying because they're ESL and going 1,000 MPH. I will copy and paste both ROS and PE from the repository into the document, then listen very carefully to make sure I am typing exactly what the dictator is saying and make any changes necessary. I don't see why it would be illegal. We use templates, don't we? It's not like you're just copying and pasting without making any corrections the dictator wants.

The dictator mentioned by the OP should have a template made.

Oh, and if they don't like that I did copy and paste, they can fire me. Oh, wait. LOL.

I am worried about hidden codes. U know those codes that we can't see that tell it how to line - jj

I'm thinking in terms of privacy laws. I know, I know, we can get in there, but is it okay to copy/paste. That's where my head is at.

Who is responsible for putting reports in there? The same people that are dinging me for adding "a" or "the" in the wrong spot. You spelled the name of the retractor wrong!!! Maybe they should sign the reports so I can QA them ...

When I press CTRL+SHFT+F5 while I'm editing a job, a new window opens and it goes to the regular manager screen (where you check your statistics and QA feedback). Has anyone noticed in looking through these that they obviously have NOT been looked over for obvious and not-so-obvious errors? I seem to find at least a few errors in every one, usually minor, but HEY, they ding us for minor errors....so you'd think they could at least get the samples correct. I also noticed that some of the report formats contradict the CP, so what kind of help is this? This could actually be a great idea if they made sure each one was absolutely 100% correct.&nbs ...

I love doing op reports even with the mandatory standards as I can insert my expansions and am very familiar with them (when I get my primary). Now it's all ASR and I have to use those standards. Anyone out there who works remotely for a hospital.. can you tell me how your QA is done. Wondering if most are like my employer. Our QA is done sporadically.. maybe twice a year. We get a stack of reports in the mail that may be 6 months to a year old. Our editors follow none of the standards our department has set up, and usually just whatever they feel is wrong, is wrong.
