Okay, it was the end of the week and on my very last document I had 1 word that I could not get - so I sent it to QA. Lo and behold! The entire document was picked apart for ridiculous things and some things were even changed incorrectly. All that and my blank space WAS NOT even filled in! No more QA for me!

That's why I no longer work for the Q - Old and Tired MT

They never could fill in the blanks, but they sure made a mess of my reports! I have done MT longer than some of these young ones were even in this world, but they think they know it all. I got tired it and told the Q where to go.

I think my blood pressure dropped about 50 points the minute I was free. The dictation that I was given the last several months was literally trash. I was struggling to make anything out with the sound cutting in and out with cracking and muffled dictation to the point I would actually scream. I mean that literally. To be threatened with termination because I was submitting too many blanks to QA and after receiving a verbal and written warning I had it. What a miserable company and what a shameful, pathetic way to treat good employees. Feels good to be out, doesn't it?

I thought there was a chance they might get it (doubtful but possible I guess).

If I have 3 or less blanks, I don't even CONSIDER sending it QA. If I have MORE than 3 AND I think QA could whittle it down, I'll send it (assuming it's not a super long report). On the other hand, if it's a crappy, mumbling dictator or poor audio, I don't care if I have 50 blanks it goes straight on through.

This is how I'm dealing with this. Lordy, do NOT send ANY report to QA with only 1 blank!

I've done this job for over 20 years and have learned if I can't figure it out, there's very little chance they can. I relisten a few times, check out possible spellings on the net, then send it to the facility.

This ability to avoid QA has greatly destressed the garbled junk I get a lot of the times.

In my opinion, if the facility wants less blanks to fill in, they need to teach ALL how to dictate a clear report.

I agree! I've sent in reports hoping that if someone else listened to a phrase or word, maybe they'd get it.. but no... they didn't get it and messed up the rest of my perfect report.

The dictators must take some responsibility for the garbage that comes out of their mouths. Our pay grade isn't high enough to affect a patient's health... you know what I mean?

There are so many posts that say "if I can't get the blank QA probably can't either" or "almost none of my blanks are ever gotten by QA," etc. Then there are so many other posts stating that CCMs or QCs are emailing about clients complaining that are too many blanks now. Something is just not adding up here. Think about it.

Well, as long as MQ keeps penalizing us for sending blanks to QA and QA then messes up our reports w/o filling in the blanks themselves, then I for one will not be sending anything to QA anymore! What annoys me is that QA varies from one QA person to the other. There is no consistency. It seems to be a matter of preference, so how are we supposed to keep up with that?

That is exactly what confuses me. Forget about all the nitpicking on reports (I agree that is rediculous), but we're just talking about blanks here. If QA is really not able to fill in many of the blanks that are sent, then why would clients complain about more blanks now? I guarantee blanks have increased 100% or more now with FTR because QA was actually filling in the majority of them.

Yes, I wondered about that too.
All of a sudden we are not doing anything right (at least I am not).
They tell us we can send with 3 blanks (which I rarely have). Then, they complain we send too many blanks.
I would like to know what is going on.

I also did not know that if you fail audits you get fired. What is that? Circumstances/reports are different.
How can they do that?

I think most of them are a bunch of idiots!!! I just had the same thing happened to me, but a little different. I sent a report directly to the client with many blanks because the dictation came through with many cut off words. However, miraculously, the QA person was able to decipher all of the cut off words accurate and I got a "critical error" report from it. Furthermore, the QA person took it upon herself/himself to change all of the prohibited abbreviations back to abbreviations that I had taken out and type out correctly...even though the CP says to change them as I did. Now my report is going back to the client incorrectly!!!!

Honestly, I think most of the people in the QA department are a bunch of idiots. I sent a report directly to a client with a bunch of blanks because it sounded like he was dictating from a cell phone as words kept cutting off. Then, I got an email for a "critical error" because of it. The QA person was miraculously able to decipher all 27 blanks correctly and decided to make a couple of corrections on her own which included changing all of the prohibited abbreviations that I had typed out, back to the PROHIBITED abbreviations. It says specifically in the CP not to use prohibited abbreviations. Now my report has been sent back incorrectly again!!!

Everyone needs to review Fiesa audits carefully. I received several "below 99" scores over the past 2 weeks and each of them had errors where they counted off for things that the account specifics said to do the way I did them and these incorrect deductions put me below 99% on those reports .
