Question for Spheris MQ workers - Tally

I recently accepted a job with MQ. I will be working on Spheris accounts/platform. I have read many compliants about DQS, but have not found many comments regarding the Spheris platform.

Spheris workers...are you fairly satisfied with your earnings?

Does the VR system do a pretty good job?

Do you think it is a mistake to have accepted this job?

I hate to job hop and do not want to start a job if I don't stand a chance at earning a decent living.

Also, does anybody know the cost of insurance for me and one child? Thanks for any info.

I can't wait for the posts to fly on this one. Speaking as a former Spheris (quit), MQ (quit) MT, I say No to all of your questions, except are you making a mistake and that is a Yes! Cornerstone is horrible with Spheris, I much preferred DocQScribe. Voice is horrible for both places and no money can be made, no matter what they tell you or how hard you try. Spheris will spit you out in a heartbeat as well as MQ one way or the other, unless you are working for next to nothing and you probably will be. I would not consider working for Spheris, unless you are prepared to keep looking elsewhere and try juggling two places at once. As far as the benefits, can't say on that one, been gone over two years from Spheris, but I don't think they are that great. I hope you like ESLs, because that is all you will get with either of these places. It is sad, but true, that all of the big companies out there are no longer good places to work for. I think S/MQ are the worst though and oh yeah, be prepared to run out of work. I wouldn't give them the time of day.

About 10% of my accounts are ESL but I don't mind... it could be worse. I am only part-time, so I don't know about the benefits.

I have no problem with the Cornerstone Platform. VR gets better all the time, the more it gets used to each doctor. Occasionally it will have trouble with a new doctor and takes a while to get the kinks out, but eventually does.

I don't think anyone is satisfied with their earning these days, mine has dropped quite a bit the past few years, but I'm still making a little over $40,000 a year and able to pay the bills.

My insurance covers me and my 3 children, but I think it is the same price even with just 1 child, which is about 175 a pay period (every 2 weeks) for health, 30 for dental, and 4 for vision.

So sorry for the rant, but I am so tired of companies wanting us all to cover third shift, but don't want to pay anything extra when we do and if they do it's something like a quarter of a penny, what in the world is that? Do any of you have this problem? There are several us on one particularly account. They will either sign off 5-6 hours into their 8 hr shift (saying they've met their minimum quota)or sometimes on weekends just leave work not done til the next day. I have the last shift and have to stay until all docs are finished no matter how late. Therefore, I get "mop up" duty every day. Any helpful suggestions?
