Out of work!! SA5 west coast - Oh well!

Nothing in our BOB, trying to help others, but work is low too. I just found out something too!!! I had a primary account for years and the account felt like family to me. Knew all the doctors. Yes, I was blessed to have this account. Then about a year ago, I was told this account was being done by their own doctors. (Cannot remember the exact name it is called). A lot of Providence Cinics and hospitals use it. When you go in for a clinic visit, a doctor greets you in the room and sits down at a computer and starts typing in all your info. They are the transciptionists.

Anyway, I found out the other day that my primary ACTUALLY went to India for a much lesser price and supposedly we are not to blame the primary account because it was far much less to go the India route.

Boy was I ANGRY. Then it comes to find out that others will be going that route more so in the West area. We all know what happened to SA2-3 area and now looks like SA5 is next to be targeted. I did find out some hospitals still refuse to send work overseas. You need to find out what accounts those are and stick to those accounts as primary, secondary, etc.

This is why I'm always amused at those who post that they are so happy with things as they are, everything is just dandy, don't know why so many people come here and complain. MQ makes changes region by region. It could be that the changes just haven't hit their region yet.

Best advice is don't get too comfortable. Change is inevitable and most likely it won't be for the better. Money talks.

Ditto here! Each and every time I get comfortable on an account and think I might a living above the proverty line. the boom is dropped and the cycle starts all over again.

MQ can take all their idle accolades about how they value you us, blah, blah and put them somewhere.

Some hospitals in West dividing up work - between India and US

I know of a couple of hospitals in a western state that initialy went the outsource to India route and then brought back all the op notes to US transcriptionists because they were such a mess. Rest of their dictation still going to India though. One doctor told a friend of mine - listen to this: And he read out a few mangled sentences. She asked him if he complained and got the reports corrected. He replied no, that it was just the new standard in medical documentation and he was getting used to it.
Yikes.

If this is the new standard, then - why are we performance managed?

have heard it gets slow during the summer, particularly July-August, but this slow? I love it there, I really really do. I read, below, about people who said just get used to the slow down and I am trying, but I am not evening making minimum. It all seemed to happen after the computers were switched over or whatever it was mid-May with lots of work and now barely any. They have terminated some office/administrative people and now have eliminated weekend incentives and given pay CUTS to transcriptionists. Work is nearly non-existent. At the beginning of the summer they said it was a temporary slow down and would pick up shortly. Instead it seems to be getting worse. Anyone know anything?? Someone asked about them and I am bringing it back up to the top. One person said it all now VR, another said they saw their only account in the "Nuance pool." I don't get it. First of all, what is a Nuance Pool? I work for them and although work has slowed down, if Nuance was now contracting, wouldn't the work be completely gone?
