Don't fret with the "BONUS" as it comes with lots of loopholes. You do not get it until you finish either 6 months or a year AND if during that time you did not maintain your full 39+ hours a week and did not maintain the minimum # of lines you don't get it.

When I first started I had "extra" $ so if there was a time when they asked for someone not to work a day and give to those who really needed it I stepped aside and ended up saying bye bye to bonus

Loopholes is right. I didn't get my bonus because of QA submission rate. That was not made clear to me when I signed on. I took the 2-10 shift to get the bonus, so of course I could not get samples while I worked, so I figured I would learn from my QA submissions. Had I known that was in the fine print (NOT), I would have spoken to someone up front before getting stuck in this shift. I was supposedly disqualified based on my first 60 days submission rate. The fine print was you must meet all requirements or something like that, was buried in one of the many books I was sent. It should be spelled out in the new hire paperwork if they are going to offer it. I have thought about contacting someone at the state level but I have not yet.

I wonder how many sign-on bonuses actually get paid out. I have been doing this for over 10 years and have worked for MedQuist before, so if I did not qualify, my hat is off to anybody who actually gets paid the bonus.

I am looking to improve my life also, outside of MQ, but I am going to take my time and read all the fine print this time.

TransTech in TX is offering a $500 sign on bonus for experienced oncology MTs & MEs. Perhaps the tables are turning. I'm already working as one, but am not the least bit happy with the account as the reports are only a few seconds long and the busy work between each one takes longer than the transcription - thus you are not paid for half the work you do. MTSOs need to recognize this and that there is competition, i.e. TransTech! Do I hear $600!? ...

Nuance hiring and offering $2000 sign-on bonus at the same time they are cutting our pay back lower than ever???? Wow! I don't even know what to say. I've been working on the same account going on 12 years and now I will make way less than what I did when I started. I was offered a job recently with Nuance and offered a sign on bonus after 90 days of employment. With all the bad reviews and low pay according to a lot of people on this board, I was wondering if anyone has ever received a sign on bonus? Do they actually pay it after the 90 days? I like the idea of working 30 hours a week, but thought it odd that I was not even offered 40 hours, just told that it would be a 30 hour work week. Also find it kind of strange that there ...

....because it says steady stream of work, amoung other un-truths...as I sit on this site reading and posting because I am OOW again and my shift just started.....Oh, and this is the shift NUANCE changed my schedule to saying that it would make sure I would not run out of work....but can only respond to their post via email....I guess they would not want my response.... ...

For a while they were advertising for help hot and heavy with big sign on bonuses. Now, no big help wanted ads and work is slim on many of our accounts. I guess not enough people have quit and they are overstaffed (surprise surprise). Those people trying to get the sign on bonus are probably trying to stick it out as best they can (as I would too if it were me). Definitely agree wtih poster on job board about no VBC, offering 7 cpl without spaces is absurd. I love op reports and am local to the job posted but once I saw it ws 7 cpl VBC I was definitely not interested. That would be equal to maybe 5.25 cpl with spaces, take out taxes and you are down to about 3.5 maybe, what else can they take? ...
