HOW TO FIGHT SR REPORTS - ANONYMOUS

Posted: Feb 07, 2012

We should all just send SR reports through "as is"--- then the hospitals (who really pay the bills, etc.) would see what they are getting by agreeing to SR reports.  So will the "big shots" who think it takes so much less time to complete these reports.

sure, and lose my house? - not worth it...

The hospitals dont care, the CEO does not care, the CCMs dont care, the people dont care about their records, but I tell ya what... I CARE ABOUT FEEDING MY FAMILY AND HAVING A ROOF OVER MY HEAD.

No Deal.

Not in a million years! (sm) - anonyn

That would affect patient care and that is more important to me. I think of what if that were my family member that someone was playing with and they didn't get the proper medical care because an MT was being irresponsible.

You could - sm

F11 all reports unless they truly are twice as fast.
and once again, lose my house over it - not worth it...
[ In Reply To ..]
They will fire you for excessive use of F11. It has happened, and they are watching it.
our job crappy as it is, is to fix the ASR - tired
[ In Reply To ..]
The only way to fix this mess is for the company to change their ASR program..I have friends that work for other companies that left here and they say their program is way better..I used Dragon Speak that I bought for 30 bucks when I worked for another company and it was better...

I would never compromise patient care, ever, not worth it..
ASR - no name
[ In Reply To ..]
I agree... but no ASR at this point is anywhere close to "perfect"....but like you said, the cheap ones work much better than this... have features like if the dictator says "delete" it will do that.

Talked with my doc recently, who is on staff at one of the large hospitals with MMODAL.... when I told him how the SR works, i.e. all the background noise you can hear, etc., he was "dumbfounded." Also, for many years that I have been going to home, all this time doing MT, we have always talked about, and he is very adamant about the many doctors with heavy accents, and how he cannot even understand them when he is talking face to face with them.

I was going to a physical therapist for my back..And we got to discussing my job..I forget what company her place was using but they outsourced..She was bitching about the quality of the reports she routinely had to fix that came back..I finally taught her to make a generic report and fill in the blanks instead..Saved her a bunch of time..
and it also has not happened - sm

defend yourself on why you are doing it. Stand up and don't take it for crying out loud.

WE SHOULD COPY AND PASTE SOME OF THE SR REPORTS (PRE-EDIT) AND SEND THEM TO CORPORATE PEOPLE LIKE VERN, ETC. AND THEY CAN SEE THE PRODUCT OF THE CRAPPY SR SOFTWARE!

You are being paid to edit those reports - anon

if you do not like your job, do not agree with it, etc., quit and move on. Your attitude comes off as childish and unprofessional.

No - sm

her attitude comes off as someone who is tired of being paid half the pay to do the same amount of work. Perhaps the solution is not what she is saying, but she is upset by making lousy pay for working hard and has a right to vent. Don't see anything childish or unprofessional other than your comment.

SR issues - anonymous

Thanks for your support. Seems like we have to do something to get the corporate people to change their opinion regarding this ridiculous issue .... the fact that it takes more than 60% of the time to type these reports, if not even more than 100% of just plain transcription, and how horrible the SR software results really are!
The only answer - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I have found is refusing to do it. I know people are scared but that is the only thing you can do. Unless people start standing up for themselves and letting them know they are not going to do it for the lousy wages, they will continue to pay lousy wages. F11 is for lousy ASR and if I have to make 4 corrections in each line for the first 2 lines then I know it is not worth my time on ASR and F11 the report. Stopped putting in requests to have physicians removed because I don't have that kind of time. Let them know ahead of time that you aren't going to do it anymore and if they don't like it then tell them they can work for half the pay also. Stand your ground!

If you have noticed the ASR has gotten really bad. Just think about it. They are working on a new program and have given up on the ASR. Why should I keep doing it? JMHO. You folks, of course, can do what you want.

By the way, this does not hurt patient care in the least. In my opinion, they are much better reports.
If you refuse to do ASR, then you will have no - anon

work because most accounts are going to ASR, thus worse pay than ASR. Most companies are moving to ASR, SR, VR, whatever you want to call it, and paying squat for it. Either accept it, refuse it and have very little to no work, or find another profession if you want better wages because MT is now slave wages and not going to change no matter what anyone does as there are hundreds offshore happy to take your place.
Then you are certainly - sm

welcome to do it for peanuts if you want. Just saying I won't.

TWITTER USED IN FIGHT AGAINST OUTSOURCING
Feb 06, 2011

You want to get your opinions about this travesty out use Twitter to do it.  I've seen several tweets in the last couple of months directed at the AMA about stuff like this. It certainly can't hurt to be heard given that they are followed by 80,000 people, right?  Pointing out the deficiencies & danger in outsourced work, identifying who the guilty parties are (Q among others), and why it's a reprehensible practice certainly couldn't do anything at this point bu ...

Start Letting Our Schools Fight For Us!!
Aug 22, 2010

I just sent an email to the school I graduated from (Career Step).  I told them (they probably already know) HOW BAD IT HAS GOTTEN - replaced by cheaper East Indian so-called transcriptionists, no work, no benefits - give me a break!  Hopefully they have enough pull (and connections) to stand up for us, otherwise, they will be out of business soon too!  Let's stand up and fight.  WE ARE NOT TRAINED MONKEYS.  We have all studied and worked too hard for this to h ...

Jan 19, 2013

I have thought long and hard about this,  but obviously cannot do it alone.  According to this Website, we are at least 20,000 strong.  So many of us have watched this job go from one in which we were compensated for our hard work, DAILY continued education, ability to change with the times and dedication to the person on the other side of the reports we type,  to one of it BETTER be accurate, you BETTER do it faster or we WILL find someone else who will for less money than w ...

Anyone Have Good Tips To Fight The Drowsies While Working?
Jun 24, 2014

I've had a hard time the past few months with getting drowsy after sitting and working for even an hour.  I don't have sleep apnea and do get plenty of sleep at night, so I know that's not the problem.   I've tried coffee, tea, diet pop, chewing gum, lots of water, etc.  I usually end up resorting to a crunchy snack, which is not the best idea.  Anyone have any tricks up their sleeve for staying alert?  Thanks in advance! ...

Prefer Short Reports Or Long Reports? Sm

I know I will be asking many questions in the coming weeks since I am going to be taking a more active approach to studying for the second part of my final.
