DQS 7.1, need some serious thoughts - MT ready to quit

On DQS 7.1 I keep hearing how the SR is so much better. What the heck? I haven't a clue why anyone thinks this, but I have a trusted friend who agrees her SR has improved dramatically. My accounts have dropped dramatically in the SR, which leads me to believe that this is potentially due to something my CCM might not have done correctly with our accounts. We've never had gender discrepancy noted, although this is supposed to happen. We've never had client specific nuances highlighted, like q.h.s. flagged because client wants nightly, or cc when client wants mL. Again, I believe this has to do with either some setting my CCM needs to do or something that my CCM hasn't communicated correctly to the programmers.

I don't want to get my CCM in trouble, but this seems to be the situation that might be controlled by her. I've tried to ask her if the SR is still learning. Are there things that we can do to make the ctrl F7 offer us suggestions on nuances in the CP, etc. But I get no answers, no insight, no nothing except excuses that she doesn't know the program, doesn't get any information from support, etc. Support just doesn't have any friggen clue about any of these things, they say the ctrl F7 stuff comes from the client. Um, ok, but when the CP clearly states do not abbreviate anything, why would anything come in abbreviated and if it did, why wouldn't something get flagged?

Any suggestions how to get around this situation and report the problems to someone higher up who might understand what I'm trying to say and look into why our SR is so damaged?

I thought they haven't fixed the gender thing to work yet. Also, I dont believe this thing can be programmed for every single account, as they all vary so much. Maybe I am wrong, but I do several accounts, some subheadings capped, some want paragraph form, some want h.s., some want at bedtime and my ASR seems to put whatever it wants, whereever. How could it possibly get it right if the accounts are not the same?

I have no clue, I just fix the garbage and move on.

I just fix it and keep moving. I log out, relax, enjoy what is left of my day, and do the same thing the next day. I hardly even think about the nonsense anymore.

I honestly don't expect anything anymore in terms of anything good happening with this, and I'm actually a much happier person for it.

Sadly that's the problem. So many MTs just have lost hope they don't even report the problems. The basic word processing programming has been totally disrupted. Why in the heck would a colon ever only have 1 space? Why wouldn't commas populate? I mean WHAT are the programmers doing? Are they monkeys just putzing around with things? I am way over the top pissed off about this. Applying for a job as an autopsy assistant, at least the body won't change its basic structure.

So damn frustrating. I just don't get it, and no way to report these things anonymously to anyone at the top.

I have been researching all the online MT Courses and have decided that the 2 I seem to think are the most reputable are TRSInstitute and Career Step. Any input from anyone on any schools? I think that when we edit an ASR document, we should be compensated at our transcription rate for every keystroke we do to make the report ready for the client. Since Medquist is so accurately able to calculate our keystrokes, mouse clicks and so on, it should be easy for them to determine how many extra keystrokes were required to prepare the final report. ...

Do you guys think the minimum line count will be going up soon? Some states have raised their minimum wage. Trying to figure out how some of us would be able to hold on if it were to go up any higher than 150/hr. Barely able to meet that as it is. I was wondering why in the new 6.1 version, it takes more words to get an automatic S marker inserter (highlighting words then using the delete button). I used to have to count the words and if 5 or more, used to place the S marker. I wonder why now the difference.
