Working on getting out every day. I think we should challenge all the CCMs to actually sit and do this crap one day, and have an upper mgt person sitting alongside watching them. Maybe they could pull up all the different specs .. you know we are now supposed to check F5 on every report, right? ROTL .. that is what we were told recently.

Then maybe they'd fix the darn pools.

I'm tired of getting accounts that aren't even in our area, when you go back and look and there's plenty in our area to do...giving us the crappy marbles in mouth, can't speak but every 10th word of English dictators. AND CRAPPY AUDIO. Why don't they send THOSE to India? I "broke" several jobs because of the audio and then finally just clocked out. Fed up with them! They need to let the dictators listen to themselves, along with upper management and should be scored on dictation and after so many strikes, they're out!!! Ridiculous!

When did we cross the line from being valued employees to being ticks? Hitching a ride on MModal's soft underbelly and sucking their life's blood. Because that's what they make me feel like. I come in every day and struggle to do the best I can with reports I can't hear, doctors who often don't even speak one language - much less English, and hospital administration that thinks that there reports are special and need to be different from every other report in the world.

Tonight, while checking the backlogs, I get the daily MModal punch in the throat delivered via email. My company, transitioning into the stomach of MModal beast to be digested, will now have regular quality audits. In any other company I'd think nothing of it. But after spending years in MQ hell I know what this means. This means corporate nitpicking. I leave out a comma or leave too many QA markers (regardless of quality) and my job is on the line. They've got my career - and by extension my life - and I've got to dance to their tune.

I'm trying to take solace in the fact that I spent three years nitpicking free, except for one weird incident where I was threatened with legal action for stealing from the company. I inadvertently put a bunch of spaces in a single report and stole somewhere between 15-30 cents. Luckily, I avoided the gas chamber by breaking out laughing and my boss (who wasn't the one who reported me) figured out the scope of my crime and let me go. Probably had a good laugh of her own.

It's still hard going back in though. After years of what I felt was a corporate version of psychological warfare I quit MQ to rebuild my self-confidence. They want their employees broken. Broken and too afraid to stand up to them. With this imaginary recession we're in they have another excuse and a way to keep us in line. We can't leave because there aren't enough jobs for everyone and they have one more thing to blame for all the cutbacks to pay, benefits, services, etc. Somehow this excuse now extends backward in time a decade.

We're making peanuts compared to what we did and we have to see emails and presentations about how our money paid for the ASR that has ruined countless lives.

We can't hear the reports and MM makes handheld dictation devices that make it that much harder. Now doctors can enjoy dictating anywhere - in the car, at home, underwater, in a life flight helicopter, or (as one doctor I do has seemingly chosen to do) inside a belltower. Perfect for the doctor on the go who doesn't care that he's slapping the food out of my mouth or endangering his patients.

I remember a long time ago I was speaking to a manager of mine about the latest pay decrease. She mentioned, in a friendly tone, unaware of the significance of her words to an MT, that I still made good money for having a secretarial position. Even worse than being called a "typist." She's very lucky that old-fashioned glove slap duels fell out of style;)

I didn't learn every word from every branch of medicine to be called a secretary or treated like scum.

Anyway, sorry for the length of that rant. It's too late at night and I'm too stressed out. Needed to vent and get some of it out of my system (not nearly enough) before getting to bed.

Just one more member of the American proletariat feeling sorry for myself I guess. On the bright side, I still have my health. Oh wait, I have Crohn's disease and they canceled my insurance. MMODAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *shakes fists at sky*

Okay, I get that, but what is so hard about taking the time to program it so that people are getting what they are suppose to. To the poor lady that gets work thats not even in her area...I would be hitting the break button too; if they cant take the time to go in make sure the correct work is routed to you then what are you suppose to do. That sucks. If I start getting work from another area and I know there is work on my accounts (check DoQmanage frequently) I am raising a huge fuss.

I refuse to type work outside my area.

5 is my favorite number. I have 5 children. I like numbers that end in 5. Just venting a little. While I do appreciate being able to work and not getting NJAk, I am a little frustrated getting every other job from 2 or 3 new and different acounts. Do they really expect me to make line count like that? I know there is a better way to distribute and get the work done within TAT. I mean really.... sigh.
