Anyone have any tricks in DocQscribe to - Frustrated

prevent the P in p.r.n. from being capitalized when the enter key or space bar is pushed such as in medication lists? I don't get it, it does not capitalize the B in b.i.d. or the T in t.i.d., just the P in p.r.n.

It used to take 2 spaces after a period before capitalizing letters, now it is only one space and very irritating.

Check your expansions. Maybe it was accidentally added to capitalize the P in p.r.n. - Daisy

This appears to be a programming glitch. Just make sure there is no period in front of it. It is usually the h. so I take out the period before I go on.

cant you do F2 to turn off capitalization - and then F2 to turn back on

F4 to toggle the auto expander. Some of my accounts use JACHO list and some use AAMT, so when its a JACHO account, I turn off my expander so qhs stays q.h.s. and then turn it back on for AAMT account so qhs is nightly.

it is amazing how many little shortcuts/tricks I do not know about. This old dog thanks you again for the tips, you have saved me time and allowed me to possibly increase my line count. It is people like you who keep me coming to this board.

Make an expansion to turn P.r.n. to p.r.n. - no name

Then you will only have to worry if you really needed P.r.n., which I think would be ..... never.

Been working with VR since last October. I have been straight transcribing for many moons. Then got into doing QA and a lot of the reports I get are straight editing of speech recognition rather than doing QA. My production stinks when I do straight editing and have no idea how those of you that edit speech recognition all day make a living. Kudos to YOU! Well, after a less-than-stellar trial of IT and a bit of a disappointing trial of SmarType, I think I finally found one that works well for me in PC Shorthand. Really easy to make additions, not too obnoxious or distracting on the screen, and, after playing with the settings, no lag in expanding. Does anyone who uses Shorthand have any extra tips or tricks to increase its capabilities aside from what is listed in their instruction manual? So far it's meeting my needs quite nicely ...

My company is switching from straight transcription on DQS to ASR on DQS. I've used DQS for two years and didn't even know they had ASR, but apparently they do. Could any of you with experience on this please give me your opinions of the DQS ASR platform? I'm just not sure I want to go through training if I won't want to stay with this company. I did Escription for awhile at another company and hated it. Thanks in advance! ...

My account was switched over 5 weeks ago and truthfully I don't see improvement. One day I think maybe it is getting better and the next day it's worse. It doesn't cap what should be and does cap things that shouldn't. It has probably 50 different things it uses for "next" or "next is." It puts q.h.s. one time and at bedtime the next.
