Am considering a position with M*Modal. Have a simple question - that everyone can answer.

Posted: Oct 11, 2012

Actually, I guess I have 2 questions.  What is the production minimum for editing?  What is your average production in lines per hour with editing?

I know the latter question carries a lot of variables, and I will take those into consideration.  But I would like to know how you all actually do production wise.  Please, no inflations just honest answers concerning your average.  A simple 250 or 325 or whatever would suffice.  If you can elaborate further or have more than that you wish to share, that would be great, but I really need some basic feedback to help me with this decision.  Please take a moment to share if you can.

Thanks

my averages - sm

I think the minimum production is 150 lines per hour.

I produce, on average, 180-190 per hour, which is about minimum wage.

Averages - for me

When I am getting really good dictators on speech recognition where I can speed it up a bit I do between 250 to 300 lines per hour.

That can vary throughout the day, as sometimes you might get stuck on a poor dictator where you have to slow it down and in that case it can be just as easy to to type it, but I do manage to break even and still end up with at least 200 lines per hour or more.

The minimum productivity standard for M*Modal is 150 lines per hour regardless if you are doing speech recognition or straight typing.

I should also add, sitting still and staying focused with - limited breaks helps.

totally depends on your account - no name

Mine was one of the bad ones. I could only ever do the minimum 150 lph (which was less than I could straight type), which is why I quit.

Thanks for the input so far. These numbers won't - work for me.

Guess this kind of makes my decision a no brainer. Will wait and see if there are any other comments, but based on this I'm much better off staying where I'm at for now.

Used to get about 120 lph on VR with the most - sm

horrible dictators I've ever had in my life. Got moved to a new team with new account and make about 200 lph now.

Have Tested And Been Offered A Position With M*Modal.
Sep 29, 2012

All of the negative posts on here and the company board are making me think I'm going to decline the offer.  Sad thing is, I have already caught them in a contradiction, which confirms what many of you have said one can expect from this company.  I sure wish I could find a company that appreciates what we do for them and shows it by not misrepresenting what they have to offer and by paying a decent wage so as to encourage its people to stay put.  I'm tired of a ...

Need Simple Word 2010 Macro For Copy/Paste
Feb 14, 2014

I've been using Instant Text for years but realized that there are probably quite a few macros I could create in Word 2010 to make certain repetitive commands a lot easier for me.  I know the basics of creating a macro in Word but cannot for the life of me figure out how to create a macro to do this: I want to copy text,(i.e. from a Preoperative Diagnosis) and have it pasted into the next line after the heading Postoperative Diagnosis when the dictator says "same." I tried recording ...

Does This Put Me In A Bad Position?

I just wrote a very long post, but decided to minimalize it because I feel very on edge with my company and I'm doing the absolute best I can.
