Abandoned reports - sm

I just got a non-ASR ESL report that was half typed with a ton of blanks. It was rife with errors. It was obviously attempted by a newbie as I was able to get the blanks easily and finish the report without a problem. I do get the lines for this right?
A piece of advice to whoever skipped out on that report: They only way to learn to be any good at this job is to plow on through and get used to the accents, otherwise its going to be rough going. Unless, you are real good at kissing butt and can get the gravy accounts.
There were problems with loading reports. - Maybe it was not finished.

Some reports would not download and some reports froze, and some reports had horrible dictation with dictator's voice freezing, etc. Maybe that was the problem? You ended up getting a report that was frozen by someone else who was going to try and finish the report?
I have not had one myself. I send about 2 reports a year to QA. That is it, but then again, I have been an MT for 34 years.

[ In Reply To ..]Here on the East Coast SA3/4/5 areas we were experiencing problems (as can be seen by other posters) with lock ups, and shut downs and nothing downloading and NJA!!! For crying out loud, our job is stressful enough without other of you fellow MTers coming down on us and stating we are abandoning jobs we don't want to do. I DO NOT DO THAT deliberately. So, ease up. It affects us when we can't do our job at the times we are supposed to and Support does not support us or even acknowledge our phone calls and messages. At least I have documentation of sending it to Support and my CCM.... Happy Happy Day to all of u.

Of course if support had answered their phones we would have been told it was our computers, our internet service, our lack of technical abilities, or the fact that Jupitor and Mars have aligned and there is a full moon on Thurs, but it wasn't THEIR problem.
I think we've all had unfinished jobs snatched from us for one reason or another and yes, someone else gets them and probably assumes that we abandoned the report, but I'll be honest, the few times I have abandoned a report I've made NO changes to the ASR or typed anything at all. I finish what I start unless I am devinely interrupted. ;o)

[ In Reply To ..]MQ keeps track of who abandons those reports so don't worry about it. You do get the lines already transcribed. Reports can get hung up in the system. Once my Internet went down and I lost a huge ESL job I had just labored over to get perfect, and the second job in the queue that I had started. My Internet didn't come back on for hours but I lost those 2 jobs in the meantime and all the lines I had already typed. Don't jump to the worst conclusions about your fellow co-workers.

I am SO SO SO upset, because I was not given credit for 2-1/2 horrible ESR reports because of the freeze ups. And like a dummy for trusting, I quit writing down job numbers. Now I can't justify my reports. But my question is this. They were COMPLETED jobs and that apparently had gone through. And jobs I had done on my 3-5 pm shift only 1 is given credit to me. I am really Pi__irked!!!! I did finally get a ticket number though. Oh well, just something else to cry about that nobody cares. Been with this company 20 years by the way....

That is what I was trying to state to the original post which was accusing us for abandoning reports when it was the system's fault. But I am in the Pacific (WHICH I LOVE) and we had the exact problems you did.

Anyone out there who works remotely for a hospital.. can you tell me how your QA is done. Wondering if most are like my employer. Our QA is done sporadically.. maybe twice a year. We get a stack of reports in the mail that may be 6 months to a year old. Our editors follow none of the standards our department has set up, and usually just whatever they feel is wrong, is wrong. Have you ever noticed that as soon as you are proficient in an account you are switched to a new one???? AND in certain reports are required to use a standard even though it is an SR report SO you are doing straight type in an SR report, being paid at SR rate. If a report is really bad, cant even find the patient- when it is uploaded and we have a note to QA, is that report sent to be charted and the doctors, or does QA fix it, whatever, and THEN is sent? Do we do anything different so it does NOT get sent to the client first? Thanks you guys!! ...
5 Day 5 Reports For 98% On QA?

I was speaking with a friend of mine and he just got the last bonus and then was told he was not supposed to get the bonus because the hospital he works on doesn't get bonuses so not to expect another one and then 2 weeks ago they put him on 100% QA 5 reports a day for 5 days and then extended it for another 5 days because they said he had 98% though on the bottom of his timecard is showing 99% and the feedback has been 99%. In the past 3 days I have transcribed reports from as far back as January 2013. Ridiculous is all I can say. 3 reports today were from June of 2013. No wonder the backlog is twice what it normally is and they have to offer that incentive. We shouldn't get yelled at for something totally out of our control. ...
I Have A Lot Of QC1 Reports....all Over 99% And Most 100%

until I realized that NONE of those count as far as my pay is concerned...not a one of those 100% reports matter not one iota....they are not "post-audit" reports..... Then I look in FIESA again and realize there is ONE post-audit report and one alone....and IT has a 98.9% score! (for what THEY say was a "major" error----I have a beef with that but what can I do?)... Numerous times over the last month, I have noticed reports that I did NOT pend to QC for any issues are being reviewed and going towards my 10%. I have had at least half a dozen already. There were no blanks or issues with them whatsoever. I keep track of all my reports and which ones I send to QC and to the client. I believe that these are old reports used for training, but I don't think they are training new MTs on the account. I believe they are training VR. Someone mentioned below that it doesn't make sense to pay someone to do old reports that have already been done, and I agree with that also.
