After passing the online tests, I got a phone interview. The woman I talked to refused to tell me what they pay -- which, of course, was one of my first questions -- and immediately raised a red flag to me. She said I would find out in the "second interview" if I made it that far. Hah! She also said I would need to take out a "business license" to work for them as an IC (never heard of that one before). They only wanted me to guarantee one hour of work a day M-F and I could choose the time.
I really asked a lot of questions and felt that, although the woman was nice who did the interview, she wasn't prepared for all the questions I had. She wasn't just interviewing me; I was interviewing her, too!
I knew right away it wasn't a good match for me. They apparently felt the same way about me because I got an e-mail later on that day saying they felt I wouldn't be a good fit with their company. You think?
Has anyone heard of Athreon Transcription or has anyone worked there? I just applied for a job there and would like more info about the job. It would be great if anyone had any info to share. Thanks. ...
I am looking for information on Athreon. I have read that it used to be Medgarde, but that was several years ago. Does anyone currently work for Athreon and have any opinions about them, good or bad? ...
Just wondering if anyone has any information on this company or works for them? I cannot find anything in the archives. I know they were previously known as MedGarde but there's really no up-to-date information on them either. Thanks for any input! ...
Can anyone give me some information about Athreon? I checked the archives and was not impressed by anything I read. It's disheartening to apply and test for another crappy company.
Does anyone currently work for them who can shed some light on this company?
Thanks ...

Looking for any info good, bad, ugly, such as pay, pay on time, flexibility, dictators, etc. Did find some in the archives, kind of disappointing.

Thanks for everyone's posts on this company. I got a call last week for an application in MAY. Sure enough, I started asking questions about what I learned from this post (no pay for spaces, IC Business license requirements and pay schedules) and while they gave me that information on the 'first interview' when they did not others, I just got my letter stating we probably were not a good fit. Also, she made sure to let me know they were hiring without having clients to s ...
I would appreciate any input anyone may have on these 3 companies. I have tried to find out about them through their local BBB, but only Net Med Transcription has anything on it. Thanks. ...
Just trying to get info on both companies. Don't see much when I search. Anyone work for either of these and can give me more info would be appreaciated. ...
A legal contact was inquiring about the connection of medical mistakes related to off-shored transcription mistakes. I have told him to review these boards and hopefully he will benefit from the information here.
While he did not discuss the exact case, I think that he will be able to use the off-shore transcription issue to his client's benefit or at least highlight that the provider in question does not have as rigorous control on processing records as other pr ...
I have been offered a position with both. I have; however, in the past, had a position where the employer still owes me $6000. Does United pay and have the work? Does Nuance have enough work for me? I need full time work guaranteed income, like everyone else. Good luck to all out there! ...
Would someone explain to me how is that this company can legally pay us a lower rate for ASR compared to transcription? After they pushed ASR on me, (said that I wouldn't ever get a 50:50 ratio of ASR to transcription) I am getting mostly ASR work. My pay has dropped significantly. Can they do this? ...
I have an interview tomorrow morning with this company, and I was wondering how they are to work for (i.e. work load, pay on time, platform, etc.).
TIA!!! ...
Anyone have any information about P.R.N. Transcription? Got a reply on a resume I sent out and am wondering what type of company they are??? Good, bad, ugly? ...
Since the advent of voice recognition and overseas outsourcing, transcription has ceased to be a profession. I will NEVER -- repeat, NEVER make the money I was making as a transcriptionist at a hospital 5 years ago, before we were replaced by VR and cheap outsourcing to India. Now all that's left are transcription companies here in the U.S. that don't want to pay much more, lie to us and tamper with our line counts. GET OUT, GET OUT OF TRANSCRIPTION! ...
It seems that everyone has negative things to say about how employers do not pay MTs what they're worth and how they offshore the easy stuff, but pile on the lousy ESL stuff on the transcriptionists in the States. Too bad there can't be a general strike of U.S. MTs - a day without transcription - just to show how we're needed. It seems to be the only thing employers would understand.
Impossible, I know, but I bet employers would sit up and take notice. ...
