a doctor name search site geared towards MTs - mary

I used to be an MT, left because I lost my income due to offshore. But I know in my case I spent more time referencing doctor names than anything else. And one by one we lost our decent quick-to-use doctor search sites, like Healthscribes, and the only one with "sound like" at AMA was a pain in the butt and time-consuming to use. So as I would swear under my breath I used to say I would pay to use a decent doctor search site.

Does anyone know of a good one, a multi-state one? As I recall, I just resorted to Google most of the time in the end.

I was thinking of building such a site, but I was hoping some of you could help me assess the current need and interest. Thanks!

Partial name search allowed, including state. Hope this helps.

I agree completely about the AMA site being a pain. I had been meaning to try something for a while now and finally got around to it. If you bookmark the site once you get to the doctor finder part, it allows you to be able to skip all the steps before it. Still have to mess with selecting the non-members after that most of the time but saves a bit of time. Haven't had a chance to try the NYPI site yet but intend to the next time I need a doc's name.

Tim, I think you have succeeded in something I was never able to do. Still, I was never happy with their search features and would prefer seeing a site dedicated to the needs of MTs.

Well, I am stuck right now anyway on getting the data at a reasonable price. Everyone is selling the data as mailing lists and can afford to charge more. I think this is why your mom-and-pop doctor search has gone out of business.

How do you search anything on here anymore? If I want to check past posts on a particular company, etc.? Did they do away with that? If so I don't think that was a great idea. I like to be able to look up info here by doing searchs of old posts first to see if my questions were already answered.
