What do you do when MTSO doesn't respond to emails or let you know when work will be available? - MT20

This is my first experience with this and it sucks!! In training, I had a lot of work and I was told to expect between 80 to 100 minutes a day. It was close to that the first week. Now it's going on the third week and I have hardly any work, don't when I will have work, email them asking about work, and no one responds. I turned down another job for this and I am Pis*%. Any advice appreciated.

When I experienced this a few years back, everybody got a phone call from me, my supervisor, her supervisor, HR, Director of Sales and Marketing. Not only that, I asked them to compromise and pay me hourly to cover the time I was sitting there waiting. I just played stupid and naive. They found work. I worked for them for another year and then got a job at the company I turned down before the no-work one.

I think you'll find that a lot of posters here don't really want any help. They just want to complain, or start a fight. Kudos to you for letting it go.

it makes. If a person was promised 80-100 pages a day and that only lasted a short time, someone is not keeping their word. This happens in many companies now.

Maybe they unknowingly work at the same place and so maybe he could have helped the OP with some inside trick she didn't know.

Realize you are upset and it certainly sounds like it. But any experience out here gleans the first lesson learned is promisses mean nothing. If an IC have them put these things in your contract. If an employee then take it to your Dept. of Labor and see what they say. Someday these online circuses will have to abide by some rules/laws.

That's why I answered it so simply. I do orthopedics and I'm not willing to give the name of the company. Don't need to give myself more trouble, thanks. Yes, I guess I will have to make some phone calls.

I have worked for a multitude of companies in the past 2 years, because I have had to job jump. All but one of those companies was the same story. No work, no answers to emails, just sitting and wondering, waiting. It is HORRIBLE how these MTSOs treat people these days. Only one of the companies had CONSTANT work, begging for MTs to work more, constant updates and THAT company pays 7/3 and with the VR, I'm sorry but I don't think it's possible to make money there so probably why they always have work, MTs refuse to do it for minimum wage and less.

I agreed to do a STAT job that was only to be 90 min of dictation within a 24-hour period of time. When I first responded to do this job, I was told they found someone else to do it. I then recieved a phone stating that the original transcriptionist bailed on her and could I do it. Hi, I'm considering filing intermittent FMLA for chronic photophobia. Periodically I cannot look at the monitor and thus cannot work because of it. I have 8 hours PTO left and if I am out of PTO, I need FMLA to cover me taking off without pay. I have 2 questions that I wold really love some feedback on. From reading post after post on the New MTs Board, it seems like one of the main reasons a lot of people chose the Medical Transcription field is because they were lured in by the “work at home, when you want” dream. Rapid Outsourcing Imaging hired me to work the weekend graveyard shift. Their transcription platform does not refresh itself, and there is very little work. What work does come in has an almost immediate TAT, so you are expected to sit in front of your pc for a 10-hour graveyard shift constantly refreshing your screen to check for work. When work does come in and show up on your screen, it is already 7 minutes into the 20-minute TAT. I was making about $2 per hour. ...

This is a two-sided message. It is painfully obvious that no one is learning anything from having failed audits. This being said, I think there are a few sides to this. First, the error weights are harsh for a lot of small errors. Second, the error weighs are not harsh enough for other errors. Just finished a report on a new account..Doc racing through. Cannot understand what she said, so go into docqumanage for similar reports. Obviously people are just cutting and pasting because the name that you have in there for that camera (5 reports) does not exist in medical terminology..But when you slow down and listen to it a few times, what she says is one of the standard lap camera sizes..Dang and I failed an audit for leaving off a letter and adding a word... ...
